I gave it a 5/10

Erimem gets a pretty solid introduction here. I’m excited to see what her adventures might be like give her nature as a historical character. We don’t get enough companions like this and I haven’t listened to any of her other audios yet.

I found the story pretty weak, though. A very standard and straightforward villain that felt a little over the top to me. I didn’t really feel the Egypt setting as much as I would like either. The audio didn’t leave me with a strong impression of the setting.

I love this story. The final episode has one of the best climaxes on audio BF have ever done.

My review - this is a definite 5/5 story.

Another one I have no memory of, but definitely one I need to relisten to! I really like Erimem but I guess I wasn’t paying enough attention because hardly any of her stories stick in my mind

Also on the list to relisten to this week is this story. I remember loving it, mostly for Erimem’s sake. She’s a favourite Big Finish companion of mine.

It was okay but nothing special and pretty forgettable. As much of fives stories. 5/10

How am I so out of sync on this one?! It’s seriously a 5/5 no questions asked and I’m struggling to think why people didn’t like it much.

My problem is that I think that it is boring.

The Fifth Doctor’s Audios are not impressing so far

I actually really like it! A very fun historical, and definitely the best 5 story yet. Maybe I just liked this one because of Peri… Is this Sixie bias seeping into my 5th Doctor opinions?

i liked this one too! i didn’t know going in that Erimem was going to be a new companion; i think non-contemporary companions are pretty fun! i’m excited to hear more stories with her in.

i liked the story overall, it was well put together, mostly. it’s always nice to see companions taking charge.

only criticisms i have would be the stock wind, and later, cat noises, as well as some other foley sound design being a bit distracting. a lot of the time i find this sort of thing charming, but it was a bit much here.

i gave it 3.5/5

Listened to it quite a while ago but I remember enjoying it quite a bit.

Peri and Five were great and I really loved Erimem.

I am yet to listen to any other Five, Peri and Erimem stories but I’ve been meaning to for a long while.

Realized I never commented on this one! Eye of the Scorpion is an outstanding story. Erimem is underrated as a companion although I do wonder why they teamed her up with Five and Peri rather than Six and Peri or Five and Nyssa.

I like the sisters dynamic she has with Peri and I think it works well with 5. I don’t think it would have been as striking with Six and/or Nyssa. With Nyssa, she’d just be compared unfavourably to Tegan and Six, I think, would have been too overpowering at that point in his life (with Peri). He needed to have had Evelyn’s calming influence before having a two girl team which he gets with Constance and Flip.

4,5/5 :star:

They have the atmosphere of the Fifth Doctor’s era down so well.
Peri and Erimem are so great together, and I just love this story.
@deltaandthebannermen is right in his assessment of the story and all of you calling it boring and giving it a 5/10 are wrong :sunglasses::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Five not recognising Erimem as one of the Pharaohs because she never became one because she ended up a team TARDIS member is fantastic temporal storytelling

I think that this is my problem with the story. There are very few good Fifth Doctor stories. Most of them are boring…

Oh my stars, I’m clutching my Pearls here! Boring! I say!
Plenty of issues in the Peter Davison era, but boring? Them be fighting words kind sir! :triumph::face_with_monocle:

And the disappointment it was. I had high expectations after Ten said that he was his Doctor and that he was fun…

Oh I love Time Crash

After the very serious and a bit dour season 18, 5 was a breath of fresh air (and fun)
