I figured out what this feels like… sort of. It feels like the finale of Series 7 and Day of the Doctor. We have a cracking season finale in Neverland which ends on a cliffhanger, and then a long wait to the continuation that is Zagreus. I mean that’s about where the similarities end as Neverland is not really anything like Name of the Doctor, and Zagreus is a massive lore-heavy mess that tries to cram everyone who ever worked for Big Finish into it and isn’t the relatively general public friendly episode that is Day of the Doctor. But, my general point still stands.

Also, the scene with the Doctor and Romana planning and conspiring under the TARDIS console is wonderful and brilliant.

Just listened to this for the first time. What a trip and a half. I really liked it overall though, even if it was a bit self-indulgent. 9/10

Loved this scene, too!

Wait til the conclusion of the cliffhanger in Zagreus, that’s really self-indulgent.

I have a feeling. At least the willingness to just fully dive into bonkers ethereal Time Lord Crisis of Infinite Earth shenanigans makes for a fun and memorable experience. I expect I’ll always be able to appreciate Zagreus for similar reasons.

I was initially worried about the Two-and-Half hours, but it was engaging right from the off. It’s a little bit flabby in the middle, but otherwise it’s a very well done story.

Weird and character driven, just the way I like it. While other stories in this “Second Series” of the Eighth Doctor Adventures have been a bit ‘meh’, this one is excellent.

Personally I don’t think they have done enough in the Charley releases to establish the effect of her being alive, but they did stick the landing with this story, and set up something that I am interested in.

It’s always great to hear Lalla Ward return again. I love the snarky banter she always brings to the stories.

4.5/5, and a fav, from me.

Now that I’ve had some time and listened to Zagreus, I have to say I’m looking back on Neverland with a lot of fondness. I bumped my personal score to 10/10

This one is superb and sets the stage greatly for Zagreus. I love how much we lend into atmosphere in this early run of 8, be it this one, stuff such as Embrace the Darkness and so on. Really dig it.
With this one we get a very bombastic, yet abstract Story, which is such an odd combo, that works here greatly. The Timelords are used in such a great way, honestly might be my second favorite after the Way they got portrayed in the War Games.
Lalla returned to her Role of Romana, and she is as great as ever. As many already mentioned, that Cliffhanger is just excellent in every regard.
I love the weird Imagery, I love the Character work done here, and overall it’s just exceptional and like @DarthGallifrey already pointed out McGann & Ward gave such good Chemistry together in this play. Shame we didn’t get more Stories with that pairing.

Really, if anything, this is one of those Stories that I point to when making the point that McGann’s first run as 8 on Audio was such a good Direction to go to, especially in the Audio Format. I doubt this could have worked as well as it did if we had Visuals (especially since forming your own Visuals is such a lovely core part with BF at least for me)
