This was the best episode in the series in my opinion, it really gets to the meat of the politics and it feels like the actors are a lot more comfortable in their roles and the script gives them a lot more freedom to exercise range, 9/10

For some reason the theme tune made me dance. Instant 5 stars?

A much longer episode which moves everything into place for the finale. Carnell playing chess might not be the most subtle metaphor but it fits his character perfectly. The story reveals the double-crosses happening as well as revealing the legacy of Taren Capel.
I remember the first time I listened to this, finding it odd that the Tarenists were anti-robot seeing as they worship a man who wanted to use robots to kill all humans but there is a twisted logic at work which Iago hints at.
This story ties in closely with Robots of Death and is a worthy sequel. I love how this, though, focuses on the human angle of that story rather than the robots themselves.
Can’t wait for the climax in Checkmate (yes, I remember what is revealed) because that cliffhanger of the Voc repeating ‘kill’ as Iago reveals the virus will have been sent to millions of robots is chilling!
