Easily my favourite episode so far. I like what this series is doing to Suz, I like that she’s a bit going off the deep end with where to draw the line between helping the daleks and organising revolution.
Still not a huge fan of Alby and I am going to find the romance a little bit ridiculous if that keeps being a thing but that might be just a me problem more than anything.
I also hateeee the voice effects on the Dalek Emperor, it’s so grating
I LOVE THE EMP-ER-OR DA-LEK’S VOICE! PAR-TIC-U-LAR-LY WHEN HE SAYS KNIGHTS OF VAL-YSH-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Cool.
The only thing I kept thinking of was “Here’s Nick Briggs talking into a ring modulator again”
Another great episode. I actually love the emperor voice. It’s so booming and intimidating.
I like how the story isn’t afraid to jump ahead. It keeps it going at a great pace.
I have to admit that this series is starting to lose me.
This chapter is slow, talky and doesn’t really achieve much. The performances are solid, but the narrative just spurs the same themes and ideas yet again, and I struggle to differentiate The Human Factor from this one. Suz is a good lead but her moral dilemma is turning a bit grating now. I hope the next one improves or at least properly develops the plot, or I might not feel motivated to continue. 5/10.

Unfortunately I have to agree with Coldstream on this one
Unfortunately after having really enjoyed the previous two stories, this one started to lose me a little.
I don’t think there was enough emphasis put on the time-skip, it almost seems to get glossed over a little, especially as it doesn’t really seem to affect our main character (Susan)'s situation all that much, the world changes around here, but it doesn’t seem that she’s really changed all that much since the previous story to reflect that.
The setup of project infinity, whatever it may be, discovering that Karlendorf is involved in it, and just generally where Alby is in this story on the other hand are a lot more interesting, but it’s got the opposite problem to the Suz side of things, I think it almost expects you to take for granted the jump in situation for him.
There’s a lot I do like in here, like I said, generally Alby’s story is great, the conversations between Karlendorf and Susan about whether they’ve done too much and who’s going to do the last bit, the bits of exploration we get as to what a dalek controlled universe looks like for people who aren’t daleks or slaves, but generally I think this installment becomes a little hard to follow, and it doesn’t feel it needs to be as long as it is.
Also, especially once again ending with the seeming death of one of our main characters, this feels a little like a repeat of The Human Factor.
It’s not bad, but I feel it could’ve been better.

Not a great chapter, but it ups the intrigue, and keeps me invested in the story. Solid performances as usual.
4/5
Having decided to listen to these all in one go, I have to agree with those above about the sameyness of this one, to point where I wouldn’t actually be able to pinpoint what happened in The Human Factor and this story. I do like Alby though and, if anything, Suz is the one who’s slightly irritating me a bit as she’s a little one note now. Not convinced by Mirana either, she just sort of gets inserted into the story (for reasons which become clearer in Project Infinity) and she’s not a particularly likeable or intereresting character.
The best thing about this series is definitely Kalendorf and Gareth Thomas is obviously having a great time playing him.
Good to hear I’m not the only one! Reading the earlier comments made me believe that I’m an outlier
I’m glad you’re saying so, I’ve only ever heard people say really good things about this series and I am feeling a little underwhelmed
No spoilers but, for my money, Series 2 and 3 are stronger (based on my memories). There are some interesting things in Series 2. I think Invasion of the Daleks is a strong opener but it feels a bit like the series treads water till Project Infinity and the time jumps don’t help to give the narrative a sense of cohesion.
