Great set, I even made some short reviews for a few stories:

P.S. My favourite is definitely My Own Private Wolfgang

I also reviewed 100

Evelyn is so miss characterised in this one.

For Big Finish’s 100th Monthly Adventure, you’d expect something a little more exciting than just another anthology.

However, this list of writers is utterly fantastic, with several of my favourites appearing.

The stories themselves are less consistent.

I know this set is a bit divisive but I actually genuinely really enjoyed every one of these stories. Some are a little silly, but they’re all compelling and not boring, which is what I want really. I think the last story was my least favourite and the Mozart one was the one I liked best, but overall I was very content with this release, especially because the last few before it were utterly dreary

I loathed 100bc so much mainly because I don’t understand how Evelyn being a historian thinks that a Juliana Caesar would even get to power and usher in a feminine wave of history. Julius didn’t inherit power he took it by force as a general. While Rome did have strong women behind the scenes I don’t think any would have been able to completely up end the power structure. It just frustrated me so much to the point where what was supposed to be humorous just annoyed me so much.

I did enjoy the other stories in this set Mozart and Bedtime being my favorite two but just 100bc really irked me. but I think if Evelyn had been anything other than a historian I wouldn’t have cared as much about her thinking Juliana could make that sizable of a mark on history

I’ll give this anthology credit for standardizing the format, but other than that, there’s not much to say. “:100: BC” is fine, “Bedtime Story” is eerie, and atypically for Paul Cornell, “The :100: Days of the Doctor” is thirty minutes of bland fanservice. The standout is “My Own Private Wolfgang”, bleakly funny in a way only Rob Shearman can pull off. Shame he left behind Big Finish after this.

100 BC is fun but completely mischaracterises Evelyn and it’s not one of Rayner’s best scripts.

And despite my visceral dislike of John Sessions (I find him insufferably smug), I rather enjoyed My Own Private Wolfgang.

Bedtime Stories and 100 Days of the Doctor are both great stories too.

I really don’t like 100BC. It was basically the first BF audio I can actively remember my initial reaction being “yeah, nah”. Evelyn felt really out-of-character, and the general attempt at telling a story where a change in established history could turn out better was just forced and unappealing.

I like the rest of the anthology though. MOPW is just Shearman being Shearman, but kept short so it doesn’t evolve into a depressing nightmare zone for a change. Bedtime Story is a decent horror story, and that ending is nice and chilling. And 100 Days Of The Doctor is just really fun; even from an outside perspective, Cornell does really well in capturing all the different Doctors.

A pretty decent little anthology, all of them are generally quite good. Except for 100BC. As someone who loves history and Evelyn it made me physically cringe.

Whoa. The 100 Days was Paul Cornell? What a surprisingly unambitious thing for his standards…!

I really enjoy this release. It’s a very cozy piece of Doctor Who. The standouts are My Own Private Wolfgang and Bedtime Story.

The idea of my own private Wolfgang being a first draft by Robert Sherman and still being perfect is iconic ngl
