That’s a relief! It’s too tempting!
I’m looking forward to listening to the audio magazines from yesterday. A new concept for me.
Yesterday was The Martian Invasion of Earth (basically War of the Worlds but you can’t call it that because of Jeff Wayne) and today is Tropical Beach Sounds! £2.99 makes this a definite buy for me!
Tropical Beach Sounds is excellent. I haven’t really done Torchwood on audio, but had to get that one because of Michael Palin.
I was the same as I’m a big fan of Michael Palin. I’m hoping that we’ll eventually get a volume 5 or maybe 6 of his Diaries to find out what he thought about doing that audio. Torchwood (and sci-fi in general) doesn’t seem to be his sort of thing.
There are behind-the-scenes interviews with Palin after the story ends. If I remember correctly, he really enjoyed doing it.
Beach Sounds was pretty fun but I love how they just added snow to the cover for the sale
Like it still fits…kinda…
I have just posted an incredibly enthusiastic review of Tropical Beach Sounds. I strongly urge everyone to buy this story, especially while it’s on offer. It is one of the very best things Big Finish have ever created - a complete oddity.
Okay, you’ve convinced me!
I’ve heard pretty much exclusively positive things about it, and I still haven’t bought it, so this 8s probably the right time to do it!
Okay, okay. Stop twisting my arm I’ve bought it.
WOOOO!!!
Let us know what you think!
It may be a while before it gets listened to. @shauny gives me a funny look when I do stories out of order…
A story that’s already free on Spotify is now available to purchase for 2.99. Boo!
Three 12th Doctor short trips as the bargains today, 99p each. To coincide with the release of the new free Paul Spragg short story War Stories.
- Regeneration Impossible
- Dead Media
- The Astrea Conspiracy
I’ve already listened to Regeneration Impossible and consider it a “must listen”, have bought the other two.
Regeneration Impossible is pretty well liked on TARDIS Guide.
My review (its spoiler tagged, but the only spoiler is that it’s a multi-doctor story, which is evident from the cover):
And so have i just! I’m sure it’s gonna be a good choice as the first Torchwood media I’ll experience…
I know I’ve listened to it and I gave it 3.5/5 but I couldn’t tell you a single thing about it!
Thanks for this review, and the recommendation! I don’t usually buy Torchwood, but this one was utterly fantastic, and something I’ll point to in future when people complain Big Finish doesn’t do experimental stuff anymore.
It’s Charlotte Pollard Series One today. £5 is a cracking price, but the scores for these stories suggest that it’s mediocre on the whole. Shame - as like Charley a lot.
