I considered using AI software to transcribe audios.
But I hear Big Finish really don’t want those on the Internet, so they will never be on TARDIS Guide

Transcripts of some audios are technically findable, but I’m pretty sure Big Finish doesn’t want them out there.
For actual tv stories, the site does have transcripts, a lot of times, and when it doesn’t, you can always check where shauny gets them from…

That’s what I used for K9 quotes.
I keep meaning to add those K9 transcripts, I have them ready to go just haven’t found the time
I do have some that I access but for newer audios or more obscure ones it’s just hard to find them. To a degree I get them not wanting the scripts floating around but it would be nice to improve accessibility.
I absolutely agree. I think Big Finish should give them to you when you buy the audios. But I’m not Big Finish.
Nick talked about this on the podcast once — technically providing scripts is outside of Big Finish’s contract with the BBC, as their licence is purely for audio. As such the BBC won’t let them any more. The same annoying reason why the Short Trips book range had to be cancelled.
Ah so it’s a legal thing. That makes me less annoyed with BF. Sounds like it’s not their fault.
I made a mistake when adding a quote. I copied it from the ebook and it had a text at the bottom about copyright that I did not see. Should I resubmit it or is there a way of editing it?
It’s fine I can edit it before I approve it
Thanks you
I just added a quote that I thought was interesting but was more of a description than a quote. I don’t know if this is okay or not but I thought that this was a perfect description of a conference call from today but it was made in 1992. Denie it if you think that it has the wrong format. This was the quote:
It was a conference call, three separate images appearing in squares on the walls, like portraits without frames. Each image stabilized at a different rate, coming in over different routes, via satellites then through Northern Global’s landlines.
The first caller was an Oriental woman. She was calling from an office. O’Hara could see some of the equipment on her desk at the edge of the image. She said nothing, not even looking up into the phone, continuing to work at something while waiting for the conference circuit to complete.
The second caller was young. Perhaps sixteen. He was dressed in a bathrobe, hair wet from a shower. He greeted O’Hara, combing his hair while he waited for the call to begin.
The third image remained a blank square of mint green. O’Hara couldn’t tell if it was the wall behind the phone or some kind of computer-generated blind. Finally a woman stepped into frame. O’Hara didn’t recognize her.
MR PEGRAM’S PHYSICIAN: Hello, can you hear me?
That’s a strange one!
I’ve had lots of submitted quotes that use a book format instead of TV format, I’m going to see how best to present them before I add them
Sounds good. In general, it feels weird to change how a book is written to suit the Quote format. I think that they should be written as they are in the book. But I understand that this is not a perfect solution either.
Maybe have a tag to mark wether a quote is from a tv ep or audio or comic or book?
Yes, I agree and have recently changed my mind on that
That’s kind of what I am thinking.
I’ve published that quote now anyway. I made the description italic.
I was having the same dilemma last night, I’ve been reading Josephine and the Argonauts (it’s great fun, and long overdue on my end) and I have quotes noted down ready to ask about the very same thing here!
Go ahead and submit them exactly as they are in the book, I’m working on this
Oh looks like it’s time for me to submit a new wave of Thasmin quotes then
Just an update on this -
You can now filter by even more categories on quotes
Filter by Media to see all quotes from TV, Books, Comics, etc!
Filter by Range to see specifically quotes from Doctor Who, Torchwood, etc!
Filter by Series to narrow it down to a specific series.
and filter by Writer to see who wrote the quote!
(I know I’m a bit behind in approving quotes, will do lots of those later!)
This reminds me, a little while ago I submitted a handful of quotes from both Torchwood episodes titled Day One and I think there might have been a mix-up in which quote ended up on which episode. The one with Owen obviously doesn’t belong in COE.
