Definitely a top 5 Doctor for me, the episodes were fun, the acting was incredible and I’m really gonna miss the guy

He and fourteen made me come back to the show I love, and I am so grateful for that. I genuinely think that the last season is one of the strongest in the show’s history.

Charming, handsome, and with an energy that’s electric! I’ll miss him!

He will always be glamour. He will always be fashion.

Our triple-denim king. [1]

  1. OK I know the vest and kilt aren’t actually denim, but close enough. ↩︎

He’s absolutely amazing! He was the first Doctor I got to watch as it aired and I’m really going to miss him

Same here. It’s definitely easier (for me) to watch shows when it’s airing live and there are people to talk to about it with. I originally wasn’t going to watch this new season, but excluding how there were some great episodes I would have missed out on, I knew that if I didn’t watch it live I would likely not come back and try to watch (and finish) it on my own.

Give me my badges lol.

I took a Doctor Who break in 2020 and I came back in 2024 since I loved Ncuti Gatwa in Sex Education, which was probably one of the best decisions of my life (coming back to it, not taking a break). 15 is full of so much joy and whimsy and Ncuti Gatwa has so much charisma on screen. Even during the episodes that I disliked, seeing him on screen always made my day a little bit better. Sure, 15 wasn’t one of my childhood favorites or the first Doctor whose episodes I watched live, but he is always going to be one of my Doctors. His presence on my TV screen will be missed, and I hope there’s more extended universe media with 15 (hopefully Big Finish run in a few decades, and I’m manifesting that he gets more from Titan Comics).

As someone who loved the new season, it definitely felt like one of the strongest we’ve ever had, possibly the best ever!
Robot Revolution - I’d give this a 3 or 4 out of 5. Strong start, sets up mysteries, and introduces a strong companion.
Lux - 5/5 easy
The Well - 5/5 easy
Lucky Day - 5/5 easy, best Ruby episode so far
the Story and the Engine - 5/5, one of the best episodes in 60 years time
Interstellar Song Contest - 5/5, amazing sfx and amazing characters.
Wish World - Essentially an adapatation of The Natural History of Fear, a solid 5/5
Reality War - Now that was a WAR. the plot itself was maybe a 3 or 4, but everything combined, including that ending, it has to be a 5/5

I know not everyone shares my opinions (even though they’re objectively correct /j ) but I had such a thrill with this season. There’s so many places for Doctor Who (the show and the character) to go!

Allons-y!

Gatwa was such a superb Lead, I really enjoyed the Energy he brought to the Part. Stories like Boom or The Story & the Enginge prove that to me massively (while also being some of the best this run has to offer!)

I will miss him, but even if his Doctor is gone from our Screens, I hope he will live on in splendid EU Stories be it Books, Short Stories, Comics or even maybe Audio!

I love 15. He’s one of my favorite Doctor’s with amazing seasons. This season is his best. [1]. He was so much fun to watch and I hope we get to see more of him in the EU.

  1. I’m probably not going to enjoy the finale based on what I’ve heard but other than that it’s great ↩︎

I really love the fact that not only is he the first Doctor played by an openly queer actor, but this incarnation is very openly queer too. Rogue is such a highlight for me from this era, and can only begin to imagine how much that would’ve helped me as a kid watching.

I love Fifteen. Gatwa is amazing in the role, and there’s not a single episode where I didn’t like his performance. The energy, having him be so unashamedly queer in a time where hate is on the rise, all of that is so wonderful. It’s indeed been a joy to watch him. And he is also the first doctor I’ve watched live which is something that can never get taken away from him. I love fifteen. I’m going to miss him

It’s no secret I have my problems with Fifteen. In fact, I think I’d go so far as to say he’s one of my least favourite Doctors ever.

But this is the appreciation thread and since he’s no longer going to be part of the show, I will say that there is an aspect about him I love.

Ncuti Gatwa is an utterly electric performer and it’s a real shame he didn’t have more time to shine because there’s so much material he didn’t get to explore. I really hope one day he decides to do some Big Finish, I think he’d kill a vocal performance.

That is a performance that deserved a better send of than whatever The Reality War was and I sincerely hope Gatwa goes onto bigger and better things because he’s a marvellous actor.

I had so much fun with Fifteen! It seemed my appreciation of Gatwa rose by the week, and I will sincerely miss him in the role.

Fifteen, despite all the issues of his era, will still remain as one of my favorite Doctors of all time.

I loved him ever since I saw him in The Giggle through to The Reality War. Ncuti has brought such an emotionally vulnerable, energetic, and confident personality to this incarnation while still being firmly and distinctly The Doctor. There has never been an appearance of him where I wasn’t smiling ear to ear.

I’m going to miss the hell out of him and I hope to Rassilon that we see more expanded media with him sooner rather than later.

I absolutely adore The Devils Chord, worlds colliding for me honestly when Jinkx got announced as I have been a huge fan of hers for years since I got into Drag Race (Which I’ve now seen more than 60 seasons of… :sob:) I can only begin to imagine how queer kids watching that must’ve felt like the representation was wonderful to have and she was just phenomenal.
