A re-introduction

Hello! I thought a second intro might be a little bit warranted seeing as I haven’t been on here in… eight months, apparently. You can call me Snakes, or Worms, or Alice. Any pronouns, be as creative as you’d like.

I lost interest in Who for a while for reasons that can mostly be attributed to the speed at which I was consuming it. Please don’t burn through all of new and classic who in about six months. That is a bad idea. You’ll burn yourself out. (Technically I didn’t entirely lose interest, but being exclusively into spin-offs that don’t contain The Doctor sounds like I’m trying to be pretentious). With the new season coming out my interest has reignited and I’ve gotten started on a rewatch.

In lieu of Doctor Who, my sci-fi franchise of choice has been Star Trek. To say that it’s all I think about recently would not even be that much of an overstatement. Thankfully I’ve learned, and have been going much slower with it. Kudos to anyone who can guess what my favorite series is, or favorite Star Trek character(s). (Side note — at least in the US, it’s much easier to collect Trek books than Doctor Who. Everything I have I’ve found either at a used book store or by chance at a thrift shop. And the only things that cost more than about 5 bucks were hardcovers, all less than $15. I’m being spoiled. (Unfortunately I have limited shelf space and my Who collection has had to be tucked away into a sad corner to make room. Fs in the chat.))

Facts about me: I watched Star Wars (the original three) when I was 8 and hated it so much that it stopped me from getting into sci-fi until like… three or four years ago. I rewatched it yesterday and it was just kind of boring. I’m mixed race (white & ojibwe). My favorite doctor at the moment is probably Seven? My favorite companion is Benny Summerfield by far. My favorite episode, audio & book are as yet to be determined. When I looked through my ratings on here I have no idea why I rated any of that the way I did. I use big words when I’m tired, if you were wondering why I’m talking like that.

Welcome back!

If being pretentious is wrong, I don’t want to be right :smiling_face_with_tear: who’s that Doctor bloke again…?

Welcome back!

I understand the burn out - although personally I could never get burnt out of Doctor Who (I always want MORE!) I have experience it with other things.

Look after yourself and just enjoy when you feel like it

Also I get the bit with the spinoffs so much too, sorry doctor, but I’m staying with my friends Leela and Romana and as of a few days ago Rachel and Allison instead
