Sadly we will probably never see the Trickster again due to the unfortunate fact that the character will always be tied to Gareth Roberts

Finally gotten around to watching SJA for the first time since I was a wee tot, and I’m presently surprised to find out it’s still great. It’s nice that I now have context for all the references to the main show, now every time Sarah Jane mentions the Doctor, I actually know who that is 
. One thing I’ve noticed in the first few episodes is how utterly rude Sarah Jane is and I love it 
, makes me wish we got scenes with her and 12 at the same time. So far it’s been great, and I’m looking forward to watching more… eventually

Sarah and 12 would be amazing 
I think the choice to make her quite emotionally unavailable quite a lot is a great one - I think it brings a really interesting dimension to her character for her to be rude and paranoid
