I also like the “mark as backlog” idea more than “everything rated in 2024” – as someone who goes through a lot of older Who material! Mayhaps the date for things marked as backlog could be set to some time long before the site was created. The date wouldn’t really matter, so it could be anything, which opens up the potential for easter eggs – say, November 1963…
Yeah, the day I joined, I marked loads of stuff as complete, but that was all stuff I had already finished before I joined the site.
Also very relevant for cases where old stuff gets newly added to the site !
I have no idea how I missed the fact that I basically did two posts the same here, so I’ve merged them.
Anyway, because this has great synergies with all the other stats I’m doing (and which I said I’d do first), this is under construction now
There are several steps to get this right:
- I’m building a “Diary” page which lists every story you completed in chronological order. This will be useful to browse but also make it easy to move things to your backlog.
- I’m also adding an “Edit date completed” button to the story page so you can move things to different dates or place them on your backlog.
- Once this is completed, I can allow people to go ahead and fix any date issues that have cropped up, and then work on the better personal stats. Those that want everything to be perfect will have that option now!
Patrons will get to see it first and help me build it.
Perhaps another Beta Tester badge in the line?
Honestly, this sounds really good! I’m excited to try these new features out and help you perfect it!
This sounds like a great first step before more detailed stats. I am looking forward to the day when I can get a weekly Who rapport.
There is a lot of Swedish in my posts today…
You’re teaching the rest of the forum Swedish, one word at a time.
Today’s words:
Munk = monk, doughnut
Rapport = report
