Well, I wouldn’t say “never”. 
It is unsurprising, I suspect, that I have a far better and more encylopaedic knowledge of the physiognomy of monsters and aliens than of actual people. To be fair, it blights me in everyday life too. I can pinpoint weird animal species that baffle most within moments (it’s a useful talent, given my job) but find many human faces so difficult to place.
I dread people who I should know approaching me and chatting as if I know exactly who they are. They clearly know me. Meanwhile, I have to engage in a weird game of mental “Guess Who” whilst trying to use language that balances on that fine line between being generic enough to be safe but specific enough to;
a) keep up the pretence; whilst
b) giving me clues (based on their responses) to help me figure out who in the blazes they really are!
