Who is a character that left a completely outsized impression on you compared to how much screen (or page or audio) time they actually got?

Oh I had no idea Squeak is back in Childhood’s End - what a lovely touch.

I loved Ricky September in Dot and Bubble. Can he be Fifteen’s next companion (alongside Ruby) instead?

I have two:

First, Karra from Survival! I think she’s a fun character, her ending is heartbreaking, and I always have in the back of my mind this interview where Rona Munro laments that the lesbian subtext between her and Ace was lost due to the costumes (although having seen it more than once before reading that, safe to say the subtext was still there at least for me  )

Secondly the Chief Clown from the Greatest Show in the Galaxy. That whole serial has some genuinely wonderful clown designs, but I really love the Chief Clown, I like how is costume is based off a traditional sort of whiteface clown as opposed to the modern ideas of how Scary ClownsTM should look

Im only on season 4 of Classic Who , but that’s cool. I wonder if it was just a coincidence they made into canon or something pre-planned?

https://tardis.fandom.com/wiki/The_Rockery_(audio_story) It’s from the Torchwood Audios, but of course as we all know, Image of the Fendahl has a lot of names that got used in NuWho.

The names on that one tombstone in Curse of Fenric also got used a lot. Or well, I thought it was the tCoF tombstone, but that one is a married couple and their granddaughter.

Sarah, Martha, Jane, Clara, and Annie are the daughters of Joseph and Florence Sundvik.

One of them - is propably the mother of Mary Eliza Millington and ancestor of Commander Millington.

Another one of them is the mother of Emily Wilson and ancestor of Captain Sorin.

Meaning we need comps named Emily, Mary, and Annie, presumably a Joseph and a Florence too.

AND surname wise we need a Colby, Ransome, Fendelman, Stael, Moss, and Mitchell.

So I guess we sorta know the names of the five Companions of a future era to be, which will reintroduce the Fendahl due to its Fendelman companion.

Maybe the Doctor will meet Emily Fendelman first, regenerate due to the Fendahl, next season Emily’s girlfriend Mary Colby joins. They temporarily leave, and in the Christmas Special the Companion is Annie Moss.

Season 2 of that new Doctor, Emily joins again alongside UNIT squaddy Joseph Ransome. Emily and Joseph leave, and replaced in the Christmas Special by Florence Stael.

Then in season 3 of the new Doctor we get someone named some unique alien name like Varta of Kreas and ends up regenerating on her alien planet.

I don’t know why but she just did

No one thinks about Chantho and Lucy Saxon as much me :eye::eye:
Also professor Yana to what extent he counts as a distinct character.

I guess because the episodes they’re in were some of my all time faves as a kid, and they all deserved better :smiling_face_with_tear:

Oh and I became utterly obsessed with the Monk after having only see the time meddler xD
