What was your first Big Finish adventure?

Mine was War Doctor: Only the Monstrous. Stumbled upon a promotion for a sale they had for it when lockdown begun and realized they got actual John Hurt

My first audios came from the free audios on SoundCloud. Cuddlesome, Urgent Calls, and back then they the DWA edit of The Mutant Phase.

I think I’m one of the few people actually enjoyed Cuddlesome. It’s 5 in a very new series story and given I didn’t have much experience with the classic series or the 5th Doctor for that matter, it’s a pretty enjoyable story to get a taste of what 5 is like.

Quoted for truth. Granted, I listened to it years ago and haven’t revisited it since, but I remember liking it. I hadn’t watched a single Davison story at that point.

I started with Storm Warning. I was in the middle of fours era in my classic who watch through and needed something to break up the sheer amount of fourth doctor content in a row, so I watched the movie and then got into eights audios after that.

I started with a few new who spinoffs (missy, diary of river song, and paternoster gang) and around the same time started listening to Doom Coalition and the 8th doctor main range (beginning with the natural history of fear, for some reason!)

I believe it was “The Light at the End”. It was the 50th anniversary, and I was already getting more interested in the classic series and expanded universe stuff. My dad was listening to it, and it worked as a sort of sampler and got me interested in the rest of the audios.

My first Big Finish story was I, Davros: 1. Innocence, and I loved it.

But my first proper Doctor Who Big Finish story was The Chimes of Midnight. Wonderful stuff. Loved it.

Pretty certain my first Big Finish Story was The Two Masters and I have no Idea why this one. Feels like an odd Choice to begin with but oh well not my first odd first choice in any Doctor Who Range!

My first Big Finish story was Spare Parts! I can’t remember how I found out about Big Finish[1], but I decided on that one because I was doing a project inspired by the Cybermen and I wanted to watch some of their best stories for inspiration. Spare Parts got mentioned quite a bit, and It was also free so…

I don’t remember whether it was Storm Warning or Technophobia, but I credit Storm Warning with making me both a Big Finish fan and an Eight fan, so I’ll say that one! First listened towards the end of 2020 (I got the entire Charley arc in a Big Finish sale) - I had checked out of the TV show after series 12 aired, and the dream team of Paul and India completely drew me back in. For that, they’ll always be an all-time favourite TARDIS duo of mine, and the run from Storm Warning to The Girl Who Never Was is one of my all-time favourite sets of stories.

Mine was Expiry Dating for two reasons;

Because I wanted to get used to the audio format

And I love TenRiver as a duo :sob:

Since then I kept listening more! Then his adventures with Donna and Rose , then starting Missy series, couple of Eighth Doctor main range ones , Eleven and Valarie and here I am! Still can’t believe I listened over 60 audios already

Well there are quite a few free ones thanks to Platforms like Spotify or the Podcast ‘Into the TARDIS’, so you might want to check those out (often those are linked on the Guide!) :eye:

Edit: Yes even the one series somebody on the forum recommends all the time has a free option for its first two series (counter measures)!

My first BF was technically a heavily abridged version of The Mutant Phase that came with Doctor Who Adventures, but my first proper unabridged Big Finish was Zagreus

Hey don’t be shy, we all know you want to recommend it again

okkk fineee everyone listen to CM NOWWW!!!

And if you’ll indulge me for a moment of sincerity, I’m so happy that you all put up with my deranged CM nonsense. I’d a little bit fallen out of love with the series before TG[1] but you guys have helped me rediscover my joy for it, and for that I am grateful <3
