All I remember it for is Nyssa inexplicably undressing and then leaving the show.[1]

I used to think so too, but I found more to enjoy this most recent time around. And I’ve always enjoyed at least one bit of it…

Update - it did not make an incredible comeback. I’m not going to write much here, unfortunately this is my least favourite serial up to this point, and one of a handful of stories I’ve only rated a single star. The first five minutes and the last five minutes are the standout bits, and while there’s the occasional decent or intriguing moment in the rest, it mostly just oscillates between dull and bad. Tegan and Turlough spend almost the entire story crawling around vents, having no effect on the plot whatsoever! Absolutely not something I’ll be revisiting in a hurry.

I finished “Day of the Daleks”. I really liked the Controller. I am not much of a fan of episodic characters, to the point that I barely remember one or two of them. But the Controller felt like a solid character with a clear character arc and one I genuinely felt empathy for, to the point that it was what I liked the most. The plot reminded me of Terminator. I liked Jo Grant quite a bit, I think this is only the second time I see her. Even so, I have to say that I found the Daleks’ involvement quite boring and I did not like the idea of how they conquer Earth. I give it an 8/10.

Episode One of Fury from the Deep colour animation. Another slightly different style but I don’t mind it (but, my goodness they all have long arms). Hoping my enjoyment of this story is reignited as I’ve fallen a bit out of love with it in recent years.

Finishing the time monster, I do feel that, like the mutants it picks up a lot in the second half and the character moments really pull this one through! It edges it out in terms of enjoyment, though it’s not the best of the bunch. I think the thing that got me fully into it was the master throwing historical threats at them which led to the cliffhanger of Yates being blown up. The brig calling out his first name made me lock in like yessss that’s my unit family
Reviews basically say “fun but rubbish” and I agree to an extent because yes it’s very fun and yes some of its a bit bad, but as long as I enjoyed it it’s all good for me.

The Time Monster is a bit of a mess, but anything with Roger Delgado in it can’t be bad, he is always so good as the master. While I find Atlantis quite silly, it is worth it for the scenes with Delgado and Pitt which are excellent.

I’m currently working my way through the Season 20 box set. I loved Mawdryn Undead, I remember watching that on original broadcast when I was 7 years old and it made a big impression then (being in Australia I was familiar with repeats featuring the Brigadier). So as you might guess this is far from my first viewing for the whole season. Now onto Terminus, which I never really get the general negative attitudes over - not to say people are wrong, if they don’t like it then they don’t like it and that’s fine, but I’ve not had a problem with it. This time I have watched the first episode, and I’m definitely liking it. That door appearing in the Tardis is really creepy, and teaming up Turlough with Tegan is an interesting dynamic. I’m always up for exploring a mysterious spaceship too!

Watched The Sontaran Experiment last night, aka why do in four episodes what you can do in two, or we’ve got an amazing arc upcoming (Genesis of the Daleks 
) that needs more budget to make it pop and we’re giving you 50% less screen time.
As our beloved trio beam down from Nerva they discover Earth isn’t quite as uninhabited as they first thought.
As expected, and given the short run time, lots gets packed in here. Some might say too much, I am not some though and think it’s pretty much stacked just to the right amount. We get some decent background as to what the human race has been up to. I’d have loved to see at least a tiny interaction with the episode preceding this and seeing some interplay between The Ark in Space characters and those who had visited earth here and what their views were toward the Ark program.

I really like how almost all of Season 12 is kind of tied to Nerva. First ending up there in The Ark in Space, doing a little side mission for them in The Sontaran Experiment, getting intercepted when trying to return and ending up on Skaro for Genesis of the Daleks, and then finally returning to it for Revenge of the Cybermen.

I’m currently halfway through and it’s funny how quick Benton is to accept it and the TARDIS, yet the brigadier crashes out immediately. I forget Benton’s in the invasion lol

Enlightenment: I’m a bit underwhelmed by this one, given the strength of its reputation. Watching these last few Davison serials has reminded me why I’ve never really connected with a lot of his TV stories - they’re often po-faced, earnest and humourless. The script here is pretty imaginative, the set design and lighting is nicely moody, and there’s some strong imagery (Marriner’s hands appearing on the TARDIS scanner is one of the show’s all-time most unsettling images), but the tone and acting is largely flat, with the exception of Lynda Baron (and, of course, Mark Strickson and Valentine Dyall). It’s all very well to craft this cosmic story and unsettling atmosphere, but without imbuing the characters with any charm or getting us invested in their relationships, I don’t really have a reason to care. Speaking personally, a disappointing end to this trilogy of stories.
