What Big Finish audio would you like to see animated?

Seasons of Fear might be another fun one.

Seconding Gallifrey. I would kill many a person to see that.

When listening to audios, I’m always imagining what they’d look like in my head, usually free of any budget or practicality concerns! It’s interesting relistening to audios after a while, because it’s interesting what visual images linger in the mind despite being an audio only medium! So in that sense I have a bunch of ideas about most audios I like, and I’d love any of them! I haven’t been able to stop thinking about The Merfolk Murders these last few days, so if I had to give one answer right now, it’s that!

Though while it’s not Big Finish, I do wonder if there’s a chance that if all the missing episode animations are all done, there’d be an official animation of Slipback, since that’s an audio drama the BBC actually own and is contemporaneous to the classic series.

The one that I really want would probably be Chimes of Midnight, hell that could even get a tv episode adaptation.

I think the Concept is a cool one but one where you have to be careful, a lot of the Audio Dramas were clearly designated for Audio, some with Stories which work the best in the Audio Medium (Scherzo, Whispers of Terror). Or some with too much explanatory Dialogue, where the Character say out loud what they see, which can be quite jarring for Visuals (and I imagine cutting it would be a bit akward at times).

So the Choice is tricky for me honestly, but have here some Audios, which I think for various Reasons could work really well with visuals:
Time in Office - I think it being like a sort of Anthology would offer an interesting shake-up for the environment, also the Story is just superb!
Storm Warning - The Start of the Charley Arc would be lovely, especially with its Setting and some more stellar Action Scenes around the Endmark
An Earthly Child - At this point we might not do a TV Reunion with Susan and as much as I’d hope it still happens, animating this one would be lovely. McGann might be the Doctor with the least amount of Onscreen Episodes to his Name, but he is the one, who came back for Susan!! Also can’t go wrong with more Susan.
Relative Dimensions - A lovely Christmas Tale with could have some great Visuals in the Tardis
Gallifrey - Do it just do it, a lot of them (from the ones I listened at least) could work quite well as Animation.
Arrangement for War - I don’t know, but I think the Environment would be amazing in an Animation.

I’d also love them to do Chimes of Midnight, Death in Blackpool or Zagreus. I will say as interesting as it would be, I would NOT like a Scherzo Animation, there are a few Stories I mentioned which would not work at all for Animation. I think it being left for your Imagination to imagine this white Space is Part of the Appeal of this Story easily for me.

Just to see what they did with it, how about Live 34?

Never really thought of any audio animated until now, to be honest.

The Maltese Penguin would make a great animation. The story is great, and It would fit like a glove in a more cartoonish style

Actually, this little clip from Seasons of Fear does exist:

I think Doctor Who and the Pirates could be really interesting animated, you could even change the style to fit the mood, with the early parts of the pirate story and songs almost childish in their cheerfulness, getting more subdued as the story darkens

I can give you a visual adaption of Scherzo in seconds!

First, start the audio.

Then, look at this image for two hours:

I reckon Jubilee might make a good animation

I always imagined it’d be all white. So maybe stare at the image for an hour, and use the afterimage as visual representation
