I felt the opposite. It felt a bit weird going from Kill the moon where she wanted to leave to the end of Mummy on the Orient Express when she decided to stay. I wish there was more time in between them.

I don’t think she actually wanted to leave, it was just an impulsive decision after she felt betrayed by the Doctor, and a number of other pressures all just collapsing on her at the same time. Clara loves the thrill of adventure to ever give it up truly, the consequences be dammed.

Slightly off topic, but I must protest. Last Christmas is series 9.
But yes, Mummy is clearly the best of S8; and S Tier Who in general.

Exactly, if you remember, Danny sort of talked her down at the end of Moon. She was still a little uncertain, and went into Mummy with the intent of it being their last one, but some switch in her flipped after getting that thrill of adventure again.
