Probably what I’d do first is a ‘minimum word count’ option so it hides anything below that.
Should probably be at members or reviews.
Also, a refresh bottom would nice for when you have read them and want more
Actually I can add minimum word count really easily. Gonna do it now.
If set, it will hide reviews for you from the story pages, the homepage, and the /reviews/ and /review-reader/ pages, I think that should be fine.
But if I hide them I can’t roll my eyes and judge the person who wrote them…
I’m turning off automatic bumping on topics, I think we get enough normal bumping now from new members joining and finding things.
Plus this made me sad:
(The topic was bumped a year ago, and then a month ago, and no-one replied still lol)
Which topic was it?
Oh well if it was a thread started by @Tian that explains it…
Finally narrowed down why Handles is sometimes having issues posting the Whodles - after a process of elimination!
It will require me to do change my priorities, and work on my overhaul of badges next, as they are trying to use the forum API too often which is causing rate limits to be reached (I know it may sound completely unrelated, but it’s not!).
So after I launch Repeat Tracking, the new Badges page is my next priority (I’ve got some cool plans for this!)
Will we be getting some new badges with that new badge page?
Signs point to yes
My phone when I get all the new badges with the new update
After some thought, I have tweaked the numbers required to earn Time Lord and Castellan trust levels.
You can read all the in-depth numbers here (and this explains what trust levels do) but basically:
Time Lord is now a little more difficult to earn. You must give and receive 10 likes before being promoted. This prevents lurkers who only randomly post a few messages from gaining access to the Members-only area.
Castellan is a bit easier to earn. You now do not need to read as large a percentage of new posts over the course of 100 days to become/remain a Castellan (reduced this by half).
This is because we have a LOT of topics (for example the daily Whodles) and a LOT of posts (for example random musings in “Free for all chat”) and it should not be necessary to read all that, you should be able to become a Castellan even if you only focus on things like the clubs and chatting about latest releases.
To counteract this slightly, you need to give and receive far more likes - a Castellan has to give 200 likes and receive 200 likes, every 100 days, to remain. Spread the love!
Looking forward to welcoming a few more people into the Castellan club soon!
The trust level on my profile page just says “regular”. Is it meant to have the TG specific term?
Ah good spot, I’ve fixed that. I’ll also do it for the other trust levels
Just added Vienna to my start tracking and I noticed it’s bounced to the very last episode rather than the first one even though I’ve never listened to any of them before - not that deep, but it’s never done that before!
I’ve fixed this, thanks for letting me know!
