Well I’ve been thinking about this, and I certainly had the idea that what if out of pure desperation because the Doctor’s not about UNIT free the Master from the golden tooth, BUT they Chameleon Arch him to stop him causing too much trouble. Looking at the ethics at this would be interesting, I think Kate could justify it as reparations for all the times the Master’s tried to destroy the Earth, but obviously the Doctor would be very unimpressed whenever they were to find out. Obviously the Master would escape by the end, but it feels like the sort of thing RTD would do.

Well, every time UNIT’s had the Master in custody before, he’s escaped, so it wouldn’t be a big surprise if he did.
A re-chameleon arch’d Master might be interesting.

I understand not airing it til next year, no more gap years etc.
But then why show a trailer and say it’s coming soon?
I also doubt the BBC is “unsure”, they are professionals so they would have this planned already.

While true, I can see why they might be unsure, after all as far as I know they haven’t really given us a proper Release Window yet, did they?
I still think they probably want to air it sooner, simply because then the current Contract with Disney (as far as I know, TWBTLAS was Part of it) is complete and a Decision rather they carry on with them or not can be reached. Considering that Who is a big Draw for the BBC, I can see them deciding to go for the End of this Year simply because of that.
Oh well, guess we will have to wait for a bit to find out!

Can we at least then have another season of “Tales of the TARDIS” if “The War Between UNIT and the Atlantean Fish People Mutants” doesn’t air for another 300 days?

Yeah, I don’t see Disney announcing their decision before this airs (especially if they’re pulling out), so airing it next year will only further delay when production can start on season 3/16/42

No. A spin-off airing in a year wuthout the main show is a gap year.

Basically a uni degree, two years of consistent work, one year off to do something else for a bit, and then a third year back at it for you to finish it off

Probably most likely they’ll air the first episode on New Year’s Day, which is strictly speaking a part of the BBC’s Winter 2025 schedule, so would still technically be telling the truth even though it would be a 2026 airdate.
