I just finished watching The Underwater Menace, and I have to say: Finally, some moving footage of Troughton! Watching it again, I found myself enjoying the story more than the last time I saw it. Yes, it’s absolutely ridiculous, but it’s ridiculous in a fun way. The sheer absurdity of Zaroff’s plan to blow up the world just for his ego is so over-the-top that it becomes entertaining. It’s such a ludicrous motivation, but that’s what makes it so enjoyable!
