This has been teased for so long that I’m properly excited - more so than for any of the other planned new features! So don’t let us down you know us DW fans: we are very critical when it comes to change!
Let’s all have Troughton’s Five Doctor’s quote ready to copy and paste when the new design drops…
BRIGADIER: I still don’t like it, Doctor. I don’t fully understand why we’re here.
DOCTOR 2: You want to get home?
BRIGADIER: Of course.
DOCTOR 2: That is why we are here. Have faith, Brigadier. Have I ever led you astray?
BRIGADIER: On many occasions.
DOCTOR 2: Yes, well, this will be the exception. Come along.
It’s absolutely true that @shauny has lead me astray with this place and the sheer amount of time I spend here!
Yes @shauny! TARDIS Guide supremacy!
I think your new ideas are great. I like being able to access the links to other sites (particularly Goodreads for book ratings and reviews). I’m fine as long as there’s a link available
I thought you were going to claim that the realization that more people here love River Song than Delta and the Bannermen has led you astray!
Personally, I don’t mind what happens. TARDIS guide supremacy
Ok, I’ve done this now!!
If a story has at least 20 votes from TARDIS Guide members then it only takes into account the TG scoring.
If a story doesn’t have 20 ratings yet then it combines the TG rating with others - checking GoodReads first, and The Time Scales second.
Sorting by “number of ratings” now only sorts by number of TG ratings.
This has already surfaced some interesting things:
The Top Rated stories has shifted quite a lot! This better reflects the opinions of you, on this site. The highest rated story is no longer “Blink” (a bit of an outlier and a people-pleaser) but is now Heaven Sent (an episode that requires commitment to truly understand it).
Capaldi has generally had a really big boost in ratings here. It seems his stories were rated lower by the general population than by us.
It also fixes the peculiarity that some stories had thousands of ratings, due to Letterboxd or Trakt having loads of ratings only on certain episodes. Now everything is a lot fairer.
Previous Top Ten TV stories
- Blink
- Vincent and the Doctor
- Forest of the Dead
- Heaven Sent
- Day Four (CoE)
- Silence in the Library
- Day Five (CoE)
- Turn Left
- Midnight
- The Parting of the Ways
New Top Ten TV Stories
- Heaven Sent
- Midnight

I’m liking this!
Ratings from other sites will remain visible for now, but who knows what the future holds…
That new top 10 is looking very nice indeed
So, the bottom 10 stories are currently:
- The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kalos
- Time-Flight
- Dreamland
- Legend of the Sea Devils
- Orphan 55
- Underworld
- The Twin Dilemma
- The Celestial Toymaker (Animated Reconstruction)
- The Space Pirates
and at the bottom… - Vengeance on Varos (ToTT)
I like the old top 10 better
Ah, without Letterboxd to weigh it down, Night of the Doctor is finally at its true place as 15th best story overall, placing even higher than Day of the Doctor!
Really
This I’m hoping is purely due to number of votes because the new animation is absolutely superb!
Disco is now the second highest rated TW monthly and it honestly deserves it.
Also SUV isn’t getting unfairly treated anymore lol. Like yeah, it’s not AMAZING but it’s enjoyable. Idk why it rated so low originally
Glad to see The Dollhouse remaining in the depths as it should be
Probably. Six votes. Similarly, ToTT for Vengance only had 5 votes.
Yes we need more votes for lots of things.
Spread the word!!
The changes between the old and new Top 10 are really interesting! I wonder what it’s like for Big Finish? Going to check now!
I did write down the previous top ten Audio stories, here they were:
