This isn’t a range I listen to but this one sounds intriguing.

Very curious about this, but not sure if it requires me to listen to previous War Doctor Begins sets first!

The War Doctor Rises sets so far have been standalone

I think the first set might benefit from Dark Gallifrey: Morbius, but idk

I listened to Morbius the Mighty without any of the begins sets and got along fine (as NyssaTheNerd said though, that one does require Dark Gallifrey: Morbius)

Ta folks! I’ll probably buy Fallen Heroes soon then :victory_hand:

I’m really excited for this set - Morbius the Mighty was a serious contender for my favourite BF release last year, and definitely my favourite War Doctor story, so I’m looking forward to seeing how this builds on that release. I haven’t heard the 11 Chronicles yet, but I know Alfie Shaw is regarded as doing an amazing job with those - plus the premise of this set is inspired by Alan Wake II, which is one of my favourite video games of the past few years. Basically, just a perfect storm of things I like or have heard good things about

The problem will be squeezing the three parts of this in before Hooklight 2 drops on Thursday - this month is crazy from a BF perspective!

Just listened to The Dead Sea – really good!! Really interesting and intriguing. The setting is great and I love that it’s not a usual War Doctor story – something weird and mysterious is going on. Fantastic!

Going to listen to the second episode now :star_struck:

Unit 26. Absolutely loving this! I feel like I’m racing to keep up with the plot which is a fantastic feeling. The twists are coming thick and fast!

Does this require much pre-knowledge of the range?

I haven’t finished so can’t say for sure but I’d be very surprised if so. All three Rises sets so far have been entirely standalone and this one so far has been too!

Cool. I enjoyed Morbius the Mighty but I had heard Dark Gallifrey Morbius. As well as In Name Only from Sontarans v Rutans as I’d heard the rest & I aslo enjoyed it. & Coda - The Final Act which was average.

Just finished The Dead Sea and loving it so far! As a Doctor Who spin on the Twin Peaks/Alan Wake/X-Files formula, this is really well done, and right up my alley. The central mystery is very intriguing, and the various connections to wider Doctor Who lore give everything a bit of an unsettling feel. It feels surprisingly mature for a Doctor Who story - in particular, the banter between the agents and their interactions with the sheriff are a bit more adult than I would expect from the brand nowadays.

Looking forward to the remaining two parts, and I’m very interested to see how this all develops and resolves.

Blimey. The Dead Sea is a great start to this set. Of course listening to this you’re thinking what is really going on but the mystery the duo are investigating is also intriguing. Very much in the Twin Peaks & X Files mode. The feel of a US detective show, maybe even some of those scandi noir thrillers. That’s what Alfie Shaw has done so well, the detective element isn’t an afterthought it’s a well conceived plot. & for the wider mystery all those names & references to 3rd Doctor & UNIT era that gradually creep into the story. I’m loving this so far.

I was maybe gonna wait for this to go on sale in a few months or see what the second boxset for this year was like before getting this but seeing what people are saying today I might just go for it…

I don’t think it’ll go on sale for a while, but it is on pre order price right now! I’m tempted too

You can start from the beginning of The War Doctor Rises (Morbius) if you like! That’s what I did

Just finished and I think this might be the darkest that Big Finish have let the War Doctor get, and I loved it

And yes, it’s totally standalone, no required listening from previous sets

Also it’s quite definitively all one story (like the other two Rises sets), so splitting the 3 parts on the guide doesn’t really make sense
