I think The Traitors has risen above the ‘reality’ label a little simply because it actually seems to balance it’s various elements really well. It’s certainly the only ‘reality’ TV that is must-watch for us. The game play and tasks aspect is actually properly interesting rather than being a way of padding out episodes until the round table.

I think if it goes well, and it probs will, they’ll have a tough job casting as good for S2…

Then again, I think this particular show will have way more people wanting to sign up than normal ‘reality’ shows, as is proven here with lots of big names. I know all bar I think 6 which is shocking as I usually don’t even know half of the celebs.

Yeah most ‘reality’ shows only get one or two big names and then it’s soap stars and people from other shows

Also, this isn’t a show about humiliating yourself like Get Me Out of Here or showing you 24 hours a day like Big Brother. It has a restraint and classiness that I’m not surprised has attracted people like Fry who, I dare say, wouldn’t touch other reality shows with a barge pole.

I do hope S2 gets a queen from Drag Race UK, really surprised there isn’t one. Usually BBC competitions like MasterChef and The Weakest Link always have one these days. I’d do anything to see Lawrence Chaney on there.

The traitors is more focused on it actually being a good and compelling game compared to other shows. Like take away the money and people would still want to play the game.
