I haven’t heard Disco and I like Madam I’m.

The round of 16: match 5
Well I wish I could join in with the ‘Disco sweep’ crowd but that just isn’t the case anymore… /j
Todays match puts two fan favourites up against each other. In one corner we have a brief fly past Ianto’s cafe habits in Coffee. In the other we have Gwen and Martha’s strange reunion in Dissected.
- Coffee
- Dissected

#1 Ianto enjoyer here (well, perhaps number 2!) but I didn’t enjoy Coffee that much.
Hearing Martha and Gwen together was a delight though!
Yeah I think Coffee borrows so heavily from Broken it’s like… sanitized.
I actually much prefer Coffee to Broken. I prefer how laid back Coffee is, and I kinda can’t get on board with the main drama in Broken because I fundamentally just cannot take any part of Cyberwoman seriously
The round of 16: match 6
Well looks like Ianto’s winning again, set to take his fourth spot in the final 8
Ianto’s getting another chance in today’s match, as his windy pier escapades in Missing Molly are going up against Gwen and Rhys’ late night car troubles in We Always Get Out Alive.

- We Always Get Out Alive

The round of 16: match 7
Wow, Ianto isn’t winning for once. That’s rare
Our match today has Ianto in another sticky situation. In his predicament of the week this time, he’s trapped on a plane in Fall to Earth. He’s up against Suzie, in an equally sticky situation and on the run in Moving Target.

The round of 16: match 8
Still all to play for with the previous match, I’m not surprised these matches are getting closer
The last match of this round sees Gwen in More than This vs Tosh in a suspiciously supernatural hospital in Suckers.
- More than This
- Suckers
Remember, each poll will be open for roughly 48 hours
Edit: my bad guys, accidentally put the wrong option up first, fixed now
More than This: it’s definitely just me, but this is one of my all-time favourite BF stories. And it’s a pretty standard fun romp for two-thirds of the runtime! But that other third… wow. Hits so, so hard.
Little late, but i think with Missing Molly, its good, but not a good standalone without Adrift really. Theyre just so similar, and tbh i personally prefer Ianto acting against protocol in Adrift as being unexplained. But then it gets explained and nooo the mystery lol
No poll tonight as yesterday was the end of the round of 16
As we head into the quarter-finals I thought I’d let you all know that for a man who only appears in 20% of these stories, Ianto has taken up 62.5% of the places in the final eight
No complaints from me, quarter-finals begin tomorrow.
Only 20%?
It felt like 80% of the Main Range was Ianto and Andy
I thought that number would be way higher!
The quarter-finals: match one
Welcome to the quarter-finals, where only eight stories remain, standing proudly on top of the 92 they defeated to get here
Our first clash of the titans features Tropical Beach Sounds and Other Relaxing Seascapes #4, a lovely guided walk through the Torchwood hub. It’s up against Broken, a tale of woe for Jack and Ianto, but mainly Ianto.

- Broken
Remember, each poll will be open for roughly 48 hours
I’ve not mentioned it until now, but I find Tropical Beach Sounds to be wildly overrated, I’ve never seen the appeal, so Broken is the easy choice for me
I enjoyed Tropical Beach Sounds the first time I listened to it but repeat listens have made me think it’s overrated.
Broken, however, is brilliant.
I’ve mostly stayed out of this because I’ve only listened to two Torchwood audios. One of which happens to be Tropical Beach Sounds[1]. It was good, though not the best ever. I like it mostly because it’s narrated by Sir Michael Palin who I know from both Monty Python and some of his travel stuff.
the other was The Great Sontaran War ↩︎
The quarter finals: match two
This new round isn’t stopping Ianto from continuing his reign of terror over this tournament it seems
Our match today features Gwen and Rhys on a sinister journey home in We Always Get Out Alive up against snapshots of Ianto’s life; the bits in between, in Coffee.
- We Always Get Out Alive
- Coffee
