It’s because the Doctor was bitten, so she can develop and antidote from the sample in herself.
(Although not sure why she couldn’t use another victim as a sample…)

Or do this same trick on purpose ages ago
Although perhaps it was because she was alone before and had no-one to help her get back to the TARDIS.
She did say this time it’s different because she has Yaz with her.
Thoughts finally collated. Review written (spoilers hidden). I’ve really enjoyed getting to grips with this one. Word of warning, though… I had quite a lot to say!
Hope everyone enjoys!
What a fun story! I laughed a lot and enjoyed every second of it, I feel like this series is going to be amazing, It’s a shame to wait 2 months for the next story
I had a fit of laughter when the doctor called the chickens Ian and Barbara, seriously that’s just like her. My God.
Yes it felt so in-character. Tim Foley has a great skill at understanding the Doctors he writes for.
I keep laughing at “foot bath!” even 3 days later.
Loads of great lines in this. The range is off to a brilliant start.
Just gave Vampire Weekend a listen. Fantastic start to the 13DAs. I love the 10DAs, but I feel like the 13DAs capture their era more authentically than the Tenth Doctor ones do. I find it harder to imagine Cold Vengeance being a part of RTD1, for instance, than I do Vampire Weekend slotting into the Chibnall era.
Yaz is much better on audio too. Stronger characterisation, which gives Mandip Gill more to work with. Hopefully Big Finish can do the same for Tosin Cole if he joins Big Finish one day, as his portrayal of Ryan was a bit flat, but the Netflix series Supacell shows he is actually a great actor when given more to work with.
