I didn’t notice at all it just surprised me in the credits :sob:

I suspect we’ll hear about the next story soon-ish. Its a good sign I want to relisten though, as I never do. I think its probably the novelty its out and its weird having just one! I’m used to boxsets!!

I think that this was a really bad move in this type of drama with many characters. It is so important to have the characters stand out and I can’t remember who’s who among them. Daryl has some own traits and stod out a bit more.

I agree with you about this, but I could tell Kat and Zoya apart easily enough, it was Mason and Daryl who I had problems with. I thought their voices sounded so similar

Yeah, I always get confused when there are loads of characters who sound similar. I struggle with the audio soundtrack of The Massacre because there are loads of men talking politics in RP and who is aligned with who is really confusing without the visuals.

Hopefully this won’t be as bad as that but I know I’ve sometimes struggled with BF’s before when they have similarly sounding actors.

I think a murder mystery style episode warrants it though, there’s a 9da which is a murder mystery with a bigger cast too. Each to their own though! We all have our preferences. Daryl is high on my list to return I think they’d be a great character to explore more with Yaz.

I know. I just don’t think that murder mystery is that great in audio just because of that. It might be that English is not my first language, and that it makes it harder to hear different voices.

That makes a lot of sense, I can definitely see how it would be a confusing listen if English isn’t your first language.

I understood what was going on very well but that may be because I’ve lived in the UK my whole life

Finished it! Great start to the series. Thirteen and Yaz were well-written, and the murder mystery with comical vibes felt really apt for the era. I also struggled a bit with keeping the characters apart and felt that the vampire wasn’t much of a threat in the end.

Oh, and justice for Barbara, that brave chicken!

How is this possible???

Also: The Tourist is sounding more and more like a rogue Time Lord (they travel in time, at least) and this is very exciting!

Hmm, strange slight discrepancy on number of people who rated… might be a caching issue. I’ll look into it, this is a rare opportunity of a set which only has one story :D

On my lunch break so starting now!

I’ve found and fixed the issue

Love it when a problem surfaces like this in a way which is easy to identify because there were only small numbers involved.

I adored “Vampire Weekend!” This dropped at 4 am for me, so I woke up an hour early to listen to it before breakfast and classes (since otherwise I wouldn’t be able to listen to it until 9 pm).

Vampire Weekend is a sharp, funny, and occasionally creepy return for Thirteen and Yaz, capturing the warmth and weirdness of their era while introducing fresh story concepts. With hens, truths, a whodunit structure, and a dog-shaped vampire, it’s a wonderfully Doctor Who sort of absurd. Tim Foley once again proves he understands the rhythm of a good character comedy wrapped in sci-fi horror. It’s a strong opener that promises good things for this long-awaited audio era.

Here’s my non-spoilery review for you to read. Thank you!
