I see this topic randomly became active again . Since opening the topic I took a break from my normal reading at some point last year to give Eye of the Tyger a read as it was short; I think I had high expectations for something interesting given the author, and the opening was interesting enough, but I felt it just became fairly standard for the genre. So I’m hoping a couple of the others will be more on the interesting side.
Yeah… i expected a bit more from Eye of the Tyger, but honestly it was just okay. Going by the others I have read I think those are much more interesting, if you are interested in a more Susan-centric Story Time and Relative is a good Call. Similarly I liked Shellshock, nothing groundbreaking but it’s a quick nice read.
i started reading these recently, Time and Relative did set my expectations quite high because i love Susan, but none of them have been particularly disappointing - I’m quite enjoying them, slightly more than i thought i would if i’m being honest. i do wish there were more doctor who stories set in 1963 shoreditch though, i really liked that idea
You want Shoreditch-set stories? I’ll give you Shoredtich-set stories!
haha thank you so much, i am absolutely going to check out some of these - for some reason it didn’t criss my mind at all that it was possible to search based on location
Weirdly, Time and Relative isn’t even on there!
Ooh, but it should be!
Off to make an edit suggestion…
I’m already editing it in
oops i just made an edit suggestion, but yay!
Actually, this is a list of stories where Shoreditch is listed as a location.
thank you! :))
Read a few more of them in recent Time! I must admit, both were very much on the weaker Side. ‘Nightdreamers’ has fascinating Ideas, all of which I enjoy, but it does stumble on its Execution and just becomes a bit unremarkable really, which is a shame honestly.
On the other Side, ‘Citadel of Dreams’ didn’t leave much of an Impact on me. I don’t dislike or anything, it just didn’t make any kind of Impression on me and I don’t think the Plot really stuck with me.
Hopefully the next few of this Range do more for me!
Well, if your tastes run similar to mine, you should enjoy some of the others more than those two.
