For the sake of clarity, my ‘post’ above was shared online at around 9pm yesterday, so it could well be a conflated version of leaks, rumours, speculation, with a sprinkling of early DWM stuff in there to make it sound more believable.

The great thing about my post is that if this doesn’t happen in episode 2, we’ll know that some of it is rubbish whilst some of it may be true. I suspect the ‘star certificate’ stuff is bang on the money, so leakers can go “see, told you!!!” by the end of episode 1, forgetting that it doesn’t automatically mean the rest of what they ‘leaked’ is true.

to further develop on The Well being a Midnight sequel, they could be mining for diamonds/crystals, and they are infected by those Xtonic rays. The Midnight entities themselves originated from the crystals (or at least when my dad wrote his fanfic for the competition-which he says the BBC stole from him, that was where the idea came from).
I’d hate for this to be true though, cuz I’m writing my own stories atm, and one of my creatures has the same kind of origin lol, but is still distinct so… Whatever..
