Hello all! Thanks again for the upkeep on Clyde Langer-- sorry, “TARDIS” Guide; it really is quite a marvelous site.

I had a few ideas today that I thought I’d share, with no strong expectation of implementation.

  1. Definitely a longer term vision, but I was wondering about the viability of favouriting things that aren’t stories - characters, locations or tropes, for instance?

  2. An even heftier project, and one no doubt considered - but since we have writers’ pages, might we ever get actors, too?

  3. Should there perhaps be a lower limit (three, for instance) on stories required to get an entry on the character tracker page? It feels a little strange to have 100%-ed Joy’s stories, instance, when there’s only one of them.

  4. Extremely low priority. But I noticed when if I’m SWEARING IN CAPITAL LETTERS FOR EXTREME EMPHASIS in a review, the (wisely implemented) asterisks autocorrect to lowercase…?

  5. Could we please have strike-through on forum posts? Would have made my frankly hilarious Clyde Langer joke in this post even funnier.

Favouriting (and rating) characters is definitely on the roadmap. I’m not sure why you’d want to favourite locations or tropes though, and how that would work, can you clarify please?

This already exists, although not advertised yet (simply because we haven’t finished entering all the actors yet)

This page is being rebuilt, and you’ll get to decide who you want to track :grin: it’s a work in progress.

You can already do this! Using either Markdown ( ~~strike~~ ) or <del>deleted text</del>, you can click the cog in the composer and “more buttons” to see the buttons for those, or use this:

Hello Shauny, always a pleasure to hear from you - thanks for your responses! Delighted to hear that so many of these are in progress.

No particular motivation there - just thought it might be fun to favourite, say, Cardiff bay, or “The Doctor Falls” or whatever. Same for writers, actors or story arcs. But it’s not a pressing need, and I don’t feel their absence in the way I do for characters (specifically Clyde), so I wouldn’t worry. :smiling_face:

I also like the idea of favoriting tropes; I’d like to favorite, e.g., mystery and Gothic. What I’d really like is to favorite writers. I think most of us have some favorite DW writers, and it would be nice to show them off like we do our favorite stories, and to have easy access to their pages if we’re looking for #content to #consume.
