Never seen Bond and I can’t say I was interested in this, but twink Bond? Okay Big Finish you’ve got my attention.
I’m not terribly familiar with either of them, but they seem like good choices!
I might give the first book a read. I was going to do the audios first, but I am tempted…
I remember enjoying the book when I was younger, you could consider me curious. And, it’s probably the closest we’ll get to a new Bond film for a while.
This is my plan too, probably after I’m done with Mistborn Era 2!
Give me a shout, and we can be reading buddies ![]()
Reminds me of McCoy putting out that video welcoming Gatwa to the role of the Doctor.
I was a a secondhand bookstore last weekend and when I saw Silverfin I thought I might pick it up out of curiosity. Almost done with part 2.
The big question is: will we see the next Bond film or the next Doctor Who season first? And how many PMs has Britain had until we see one of them again?
Denis Villeneuve is working on Dune: Part Three before starting work on Bond 26, having filmed the movie — based on Frank Herbert’s novel, Dune Messiah — in summer 2025 for release in December 2026. This puts the earliest start date of Bond 26 in 2027, with a likely release in 2028.
Variety backed this up in a report saying, “Amazon is looking at a 2028 release date for Bond 26.”
Bond 26 will be out before any new Doctor Who, I imagine.
So I watched From Russia With Love this evening. I enjoyed more this viewing than I have before. I understood the plot a lot better this time. I still think I enjoy Dr. No better, and Goldfinger a lot better. This is a decent film, it’s just a slower than one would expect from modern Bond. I ended up rating it 3.5/5 on Letterboxd and left it without a “like”. It’s good for what it is, but of the Bonds I’ve seen (and remember enough details), it’s my least favorite.
I came across this on my YouTube Recommendations. I may have to give it a watch again. My second favourite in the bond franchise.
Superb film! And a great comeback for Bond after Licence to Kill
This morning into afternoon’s entertainment is Thunderball
I always think of Tom Jones singing the theme song and belting that final Thunderbaaaaasaaaaaaaaaaaaalll so hard that he fainted in the studio afterwards.
Did he really? Damn.
