We already have plenty of Threads about the various Comic Series in the World of Who, despite that we still are missing one of the biggest one: The TV Comics!
Spanning through the first four Doctors, the TV Comics are an Oddity on their own to put it nicely. Despite being disliked for the most Part, their Impact on the World of Who can still be felt. Be it because they are the Origins of the Idea of Season 6B or their Introduction to John & Gillian Who, two Grandchildren of Doctor Who, that even Decades after their last Comics didn’t went away completely.
Feel free to discuss any of them! (Even if I don’t recommend reading most of them)

The only comics from TV Comic I’ve read were a couple of abysmal Third Doctor ones.

I want to get into their comics but I heard they’e aweful a lot of times? I only read that 8 DWM comic with them and it was fantastic

Yeah, that one was excellent! I do say just try them out, the first Doctor Comics have their Charm (for the most Part), after that it goes downhill from the various ones that I read. Although Night Walkers is not so bad, when it comes to the second Doctor Comics!

The comics are very odd reads. The first Doctor Who ones I’ve read come so early into Doctor Who’s run that there’s no consistent characterisation, resulting in Doctor Who shooting people with no remorse, and bashing heads in. He’s also exclusively referred to as Dr. Who, which I love.

Yeah, I love how he is just Doctor Who/Dr. Who, but not a Fan of him being basically all brutal in those! PUT THAT GUN DOWN, DOCTOR WHO!

Funnily enough (spoilers for the VNA Conundrum) these guys show up in Conundrum, which I just finished and reviewed. Apparently, the whole of the TV comics were creations of the Land of Fiction.

I’ve read exactly one of these because it was reprinted in the same comic that an Incredible Hulk Presents was reprinted in and… well…

1.64 stars? Now I have to read it!

Ah. Sometimes 1.64 stars is justified…
The first page was relatively cute and then the ’savages’ turned up
And why did they call it a ’didus’ instead of a dodo? Didus was an old (and now disused) scientific name but (according to Google Ngram) almost no-one was using the term by the 60s

I guess my best Guess for that is to be a more different than all the others, but then again that’s maybe giving them a bit too much Credit, considering the TV Comics don’t have a great Trackrecord. (Oh well, at least some of the first doctor ones aren’t too bad and at times charming!

Also this is the use of ‘dodo’ and ’didus’ over time:
So why ‘didus’ at all?
This rabbit hole was more interesting than the story itself!

Yeahhhhh it’s not great, to say the least

What John and Gillian does to a person

The Doctor Who production team didn’t want them to use the name so as to not confuse the birds with their new companion Dodo. A fun fact that can be used literally nowhere else other than this exact circumstance of someone asking an incredibly specific question, haha.

Amazing that you knew that! And so fascinating!

So the same reason why Amy from the Key 2 Time Main Range trilogy had her name changed to Abby for the Graceless spin-off series so as not to get her confused with Amy Pond.

I have a huge fondness for the First Doctor TV Comic strips. One of the best is Challenge of the Piper.
It’s seriously downhill when the Second Doctor appears though.
There are some pretty good Countdown comics for the Third Doctor.
