You’re right, thanks.
I’m not sure why I keep clicking on the wrong thread to comment on the story ![]()
Not sure where the writer is going with this. I think he’s losing his mind.
hey i’m trying my best
Or she. Or its. Or they. Or zir. Non-binary people can lose their mind too.[1]
Sorry @Mercury, didn’t know you’re the writer. Where’d you last see your mind?
Not done studies on this, just hearsay. ↩︎
I was hinting that Nic Briggs is writing this himself ![]()
I was going to as well but then saw the follow-up and tried to be funny. Sorry, Mercury.
Who said “Art is dead”, when we live in a world where this sentence just got formed:
Art ![]()

Hemingway often spoke about how you have to strip away at your work, cutting unnecessary words…
I wonder how he’d feel that I just made Briggs leave, then immediately return
so unnecessary
He paused, let out a “for Briggs sake” and moonwalked back. He had to know for sure…
I don’t know about you, but I’m finding this story absolutely gripping.
I think it excels in it’s absurdity and in fact we’re actually making a salient point about the state of copyright
That’s the kind of multi textual storytelling I was hoping for.
Proper clever dicks aren’t we?
I’ve added a quick summary of chapter one before my post.
Hopefully this will help people jump in, without needing to read everything (though why wouldn’t you, Briggs is cooking! This is gold ![]()
Proper clever tricklers
No, I’ve cut out the asparagus and I’m fine now.
I’ll have you know that the word ‘Trickler™’, in all its forms, is copyrighted, and every time you use it, you owe me!
I feel like I’ve said it before, but this new exercise has reminded me: I fully intend (at some point in the future, when I can muster the required strength and time) to write an essay on that! Doctor Who is a franchise that embodies the concept of the Death of the Author so comprehensively and on such a vast scale that, combined with its nature as a pan-generational institution, boasting contributions from creatives who themselves were and are still fans, it blurs the lines between writer and reader, creator and observer; Doctor Who is the perfect case study for the democratisation of narrative, a text that retains its identity despite changing so drastically with such frequency—it’s the Spaceship of Theseus! ![]()
What about if I actually trickle…do I still owe you then?
I’m not saying I do trickle by the way. The floodgates stand firm these days.
You wouldn’t sue your own Tricklers! You couldn’t! ![]()
THE TRICKLERS BRIGGADE: So Nic, we’ve written you a role. We’d love you to play it.
BRIGGS: I get to be the Doctor, right?
THE TRICKLERS BRIGGADE: …
BRIGGS: I get to be the Doctor…. Right?
THE TRICKLERS BRIGGADE: You voice a lil robot dog that we forgot about and was never mentioned again.
