Thanks for letting me know about the comic club @Tian and @DarthGallifrey. I’ll do the next DWM comic that month instead, and wait for the comic club for the titan comics
More Jodie is this heaven?
Said in other threads but I reckon its most likely trailer music, its a reuse from the same artists Paternoster score!
The trailer is also always available on the BF site!
Oh really? Good to know
And perhaps, granted I am not familiar with the score, so I wouldn’t have known if it was reused or not, thanks for letting me know tho!
Ordered the first two volumes of Jodie’s comic run on ebay! Can’t wait till they arrive!
Titan or DWM?
Titan, still need to get her DWM run, but heard GREAT things about Hidden Human History. Saw a copy of Faction Paradox: Book of the War on there for $50 but the seller didn’t ship overseas
Ooh that’s my next volume to read, I look forward to it now!
What I’ve read of Thirteen’s Titan (and DWM) run has been incredible!
Ascension of the Cybermen: Oh WOW! This episode totally surpassed my expectations, I loved it! I felt genuinely scared for all the humans, especially at the end on the Cyberman Ship. 13 was also awesome (as always). Loved seeing her being harsher with the fam, she was very worried for them, obviously a result of what happened to Bill.
I did not expect my boy the Master to show up! It was a good entrance and I’m so excited for the next episode!
The Brendan storyline also intrigues me Is he a time lord? Is that why he survived getting shot? Why did his dad and the other police officer not age? Is he part of an experiment? What’s going on??
Ascension Ascension Ascension oh I love it !!!
And next up - The Timeless Children…
Thought I should post this on here too, but I’ve written this “essay” about why the Doctor being an adoptee and foundling fits with the character, plus all of the things revealed in The Timeless Children that do fit with the Doctor’s character.
The Doctor Being An Adoptee Fits - Video Essay.pdf (83.6 KB)
Rewatched The Vanquishers for the hell of it and realised… yeah it’s actually a pretty good finale all things considered. I feel I’d need to redo Flux again proper without any long breaks (as I am wont to do w this season) to appreciate it more, it’s pretty good as is. I liked the two most recent finales but seeing all the classic staples of Who together that RTD2 hasn’t really had (Daleks, Cybermen, Sontarans, etc) very much made me appreciate this story more.
Also! Speaking of Sontarans! I like that the Ravagers aside, they ended up being the big bad of the season, it’d be cool to see them getting the spotlight more often. The three 13’s were a very fun inclusion too. And the resolution to the Timeless Child arc for 13 was brilliant - her throwing away the fob watch as her theme played (also yeah, Seguin Akinola - love Gold to bits but he’s underrated af) was pure chills.
Went from a 4/10 to a 7/10. Will definitely try doing Flux as a whole again soon.
I remember watching this during the pandemic
I love that the Doctor decides to put the fob watch on the back shelf, as it would be a lot for her to regain all of her lost memories just after she’s found them and also from the bits and fragments she’s seen that would be inside the fob watch, like being a Fugitive, working for Division, being parented and experimented upon by Tecteun, and the attachment, separation, and abandonment trauma that comes with being adopted, that’s a lot of negative memories to regain. Plus, if the memories in the fob watch go beyond being found as a child and their memories go right back to their birth, then there’s the fear of finding out why she was left alone as a child, like that she was unwanted and her birth parents left her, or that they were killed trying to save her meaning she can’t ever reunite with them. I do think that we should’ve seen some memories in the fob watch with the Fugitive Doctor before she stored it in the TARDIS, perhaps accessing a memory to find out how to defeat the Swarm and Azure.
I love her
It’s my favourite one!
Oh wow, that was my 100th post in this topic!
Oh, I didn’t know about the Story behind it, really lovely to learn about it!
From what we saw of Tecteun, she had so much potential as a character and I wish that she and Division had been the overarching villains of Chibnall’s era. Throughout Series 11 reveal the existence of Division by having Division Operatives in multiple episodes, and at the end of the series it’s revealed that they’re working for the Time Lords.
In Series 12 we see Division Operatives and Time Lord Division Commanders every episode. In Fugitive of the Judoon we’re introduced to Tecteun, who was the contractee that hired the Judoon to capture the Fugitive Doctor, then in the finale we see Tecteun but proper dialogue/action sequences rather than narrated by the Master.
In Series 13, Tecteun is in every episode. We see her and the Fugitive Doctor in the Atropos flashback. The episode where the Doctor reunites with Tecteun and finds out who they are an hour of their confrontation as well as the plot with the Ravagers using the life forms to build a bridge to the Doctor, but when they come to Division, don’t have Tecteun killed off, but have the Doctor vs Tecteun/Division vs Ravagers and Time in the rest of the series. And when the Doctor accesses a memory in the fob watch, she sees Tecteun and the Fugitive Doctor.
