Sooooo, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen did NOT age well.
It’s the cinematic equivalent of being punched on the face and liking it, sort of.

Watched Mulhollend Drive today! Absolutely one of THE films. Beautiful, uncanny, haunting. I miss David Lynch.

Oh, I saw Mulholland Drive recently too! I loved it, I think it’s one of my favorites I’ve seen now. It got under my skin in such a particular way. This is such a seemingly random thing but I just love how Lynch’s body of work utilizes sound design.

Absolutely! Sound takes on such a presence in Lynch films. The score to this one is beautiful.

Just finished ‘Conclave’. Every time some juicy gossip was revealed or one of the cardinals raised their voice slightly I was like :anguished: :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth: :face_with_peeking_eye:. Beautifully shot and acted, gorgeous scenery and costume design.

I’m not finishing the Hobbit films. I’ve got other things to watch that I’ll be picking up at the library today.

Forget to mention it, but I recently saw the new Nosferatu, and I am happy to report we have a 3/3 Cases :tada: yet another great Nosferatu Film, which has a lot going for it. I am especially surprised by Lily-Rose, who was probably the Standout in this film.

Oh, and Dafoe was as delightful as he always is, can’t get enough of him!
Reminds me that I should probably watch the other two Films Robert Eggers directed, especially after loving The Lighthouse so much.

Saw Mickey 17 today. It’s as good as everyone keeps saying it is. Loved it. Despite all the hype this was actually my first Bong Joon Ho film, so I’ll have to go back and check out more of his work soon.

I don’t typically see films a second time very often, but our friend we usually go to the cinema with wasn’t available so we went without and now she was available she asked us to go! It was so good I wanted to see it again tbh!

Watched Snowpiercer and it was really good, but just never fully gelled with me the way Bong Joon-ho’s other movies I’ve seen have and I can’t quite place why. Still a 4 star with great direction and all timer performances; just not the 4.5-5 stars I’d give the other ones I’ve seen

Recently finally saw ‘Flow’, gorgeous Film, no Dialogue, just wonderful Visuals and a Cat! An Excellent Film, highly recommend it!
Hoping to catch up with more films from 2024, which I haven’t seen yet!

It won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. I really want to see it, especially since it has no dialogue. And it’s the first Oscar winner from Latvia (or was it Lithuania?).

Just saw Anora in cinema. 100% deserves the award sweep it got.

During the first half I enjoyed it but didn’t get the buzz, but once we reached the second half it easily became my favourite movie I’ve seen this year yet. After laughing do hard during all the antics in the second half, all I can do as I wait for the bus home is feel absolutely devastated by that ending. Poor Ani, she deserved so much better than all that…
