I made a list of all the available BBC dead ringer skits, although I don’t know how these could feasibly be added to the site since I couldn’t find the release dates for most of them, but I still figured that they’re worth mentioning

Yes, I have just re-read these.
No that isn’t why I’m claiming they qualify as stories for the guide.
(They are quite fun though).
They’re all featured in:
https://tardis.wiki/wiki/Monsters_and_Villains_(reference_book)
“On Being Five”, a non-Whoniverse short story from the Short Trips anthology A Christmas Treasury (shauny did previously decline to include this when I wrote it up on the spreadsheet. we have another ‘real world’ story from the Short Trips though as well as i.e. the entirety of Decalog 5. if it’s still a no though that’s cool)
Please no.
These sound awful.
Some of them are rather amusing.
These sound anything but amusing.
I think we’ve gotten too lenient on what actually is a story of late, if these do get added too. I think “stories” on the guide such as that thing with the King, and the big fat quiz, are not stories at all.
Oof, had to look up who that last one was, just want to note that they’re only here because they are official BBC portrayals of the Doctor
I did say ‘some’ not ‘all’. And the last one can only be deemed unsavoury in retrospect.
And humour is, of course, subjective.
Surely that’s why we have the ‘sketch’ categorisation.
And the King one was at least attempting to tell a sort of story.
The Doctor Who Calls Sylvester McCoy one is quite hilarious because he seems to think its actually Tom Baker calling him.
I think, given that the ‘sketch’ category exists, there’s no reason to exclude these over others. But I expect lots like me will ‘skip’ parody sketches altogether.
I asked him about it at a convention and he did indeed.
They’re all stories! Everything’s a story! For the love of stories! Perhaps I just really enjoy saying/typing stories!
Nick Briggs? Is that you? Make sure you take your medicine…
