I think I lost about 1.5k but I’ve maintained my all time position 
I think this is for the best to stop people gaming the system

I’m genuinely confused how anyone could have gone up when all I did was remove a scoring event.
But oh well. Happy for you

I don’t think much has changed for me! Wasn’t keeping track of my karma but my place in the leaderboard is pretty similar (I’ve always been somewhere between #15 and #25).

So hypothetically, what if someone due to the recalculation ended up below the threshold for a karma badge, can they then earn it again 
?

Yeah, this change means that we are rewarded for actual, proper contributions to the forum - being here, reading and posting, rather than just playing the reactions game.

Oh actually! I’ve figured it out!
The 5-months-ago update was never recalculated before, so now that it has been recalculated, everyone has received extra points for receiving reactions for the past year, and lost the points for giving reactions for the past 5 months.
Makes sense.

I also like the idea that reactions (and likes) are entirely real — people don’t react to your post because they want karma, instead they’re reacting because they actually like your post.
Makes me feel happy

No because you got karma from getting likes for a year but only lost karma for giving likes and stuff for 5 months.

If that happened, they’d lose the badge (can take up to 24 hours for it to be revoked) and then it would be re-granted again when they reach the score again.

I’ve lost about 9000 karma, and gone down 8 places for the month.
I’m still 25th all time though.
I think it might be time to start posting in more of the clubs
