Welcome!

Feel free to ask anything

Do you mean tips for the site or the forum or both?

Seems like you’ve got most things figured out so far!

Welcome. The most basic tip I give is to just scroll through the various threads and read through anything that strikes your fancy. If you find something you want to comment on, feel free. We’re a very accepting bunch here. Check out the categories or tags if just scrolling feels overwhelming. What part of the Whoniverse are you most interested in? Favorite Doctor, favorite medium (TV, books, audio, etc)?

Mostly TV (I feel so ashamed of myself that I haven’t even watched it all) and comics.

Probably both.

Then maybe check out the Television or Comics categories. We also have a TV Club that’s alternating between Classic Series and New Series every Monday and the Comic Club which is working through a new Titan Comics volume every other Wednesday.

Thanks, I will be sure to check them out.

Hi there. Welcome to the site and forum.

We have TV Club Audio Club Book Club and Comic Club. They’re good places to jump into and give your spicy opinions :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

If there is anything you want to know about in the site or forum, feel free to ask, and we will point you in the right direction.

I hope you enjoy your stay.

Welcome! The best advice I got is to just jump into whatever threads seem interesting to you, everyone here is super nice. The clubs are really cool for finding or rethinking some new or old stories.

For the main site, a really cool thing is the ‘available for free’ filter (it might be under more filters, I’m not sure), it’s great if you want more doctor who but can’t currently sell your soul to big finish :joy:

I hope you have fun here!

I will try using that filter, as I want to get more into Big Finish, but it isn’t very easy to:
a) Afford, and
b) finding a good range to follow/ place to start.
So thanks for the advice!

I keep meaning to make a special Guide all about this. Soon! ™️

Welcome! It’s good to have you here! The only tip I can offer is don’t be shy - it doesn’t matter how old or slow a thread is, there’s no shame in adding comments to anything if you have something to say here

Yeah, I’ve already spent way too much on those but they’re super good!
Some things (1-50 of the main range for example) are on Spotify for free, BBC sounds has a handful for free too, and there are a handful on audible as well, where you might be getting a good deal on them (with a free/reduced trial), but it’s best to research those, since many on there are available for free elsewhere.

Great! Any recommendations?

Hi, welcome!

Sorry to pop in, but I also reccomend checking online libraries like the internet archive. You can “check them out” like you would at a real library. If you PM me, I’m happy to help with finding them!

Ok, I’ll have to give that a look then. Thanks.

And also check with your own local public library. They may already have Doctor Who content, or may be able to acquire more for you through an Inter-library Loan program.

Always check the library!!! :black_heart:

A big welcome! Feel yourself at home, we’re a lovely bunch of people! Also, don’t be ashamed of not having watched/read/listened to everything - that’s perfectly fine, and part of the joy of joining the site and forum is the ability to discover new stories, experience them for the first time and discuss them with others.

Also, if you can’t decide what to watch or listen to next, the site has this lovely randomiser tool (under Menu → Tools → Time-Space Randomiser) which picks a story for you! It’s a great way to discover new stories or re-discover old ones!
