If The Fifteenth Doctor Met Sam Wilson Captain America

Inspired by the trailer for Captain America: Brave New World, how do you think a meeting between the Fifteenth Doctor and Sam Wilson as Captain America would go?

I think whilst some of Captain America’s methods would be more violent than the Doctor would like, I think they would have a mutual respect for each other. Neither are afraid to hold authority figures to task if they think they are in the wrong, and both understand the power that a good speech can hold (Sam Wilson gives a big one at the end of The Falcon And The Winter Soldier).

From a behind the scenes perspective, it’s great to see some diversity in front of the camera. I like that we currently have a black Captain America and a black Doctor at the same time, as those of us who are white have plenty of people to represent us, so it’s nice that the black community are getting more protagonists that they can look up to as well.

Having Sam Wilson meet the Fifteenth Doctor specifically would be a very cool moment, for sure.

You know, I love the MCU, obviously I love Doctor Who. Would I ever want the two to overlap? No thank you
I wouldn’t want Dune, Star Wars or James Bond to intersect with the Whoniverse even though I love them all. Nor would I like to have Star Trek and Doctor Who do a crossover, though that might be a lost battle.

But personal preferences and all that :slightly_smiling_face:

Cross-overs can be fun but there needs to be a ‘reason’ beyond ‘wouldn’t it be cool’. If the tone/aesthetics are too different the juxtaposition can be jarring and work against any story that’s trying to be told.

Marvel and Doctor Who are too different and I’d argue so are Doctor Who and Star Trek.

Doctor Who and Blakes 7, back in the 70s, could have worked as they were both being made by the ‘same’ people.
