Depends on what you consider a backlog. Do I have access to all of the first 50 MR, Dalek Empire series 1 and 2, Counter Measures series 1 and 2, all of Cybermen, Charlotte Pollard series 1, and everything in Into the Tardis just because I have spotify. I have no intention of listening to all of that. If I spend money on it I usually finish it immediately.
Uh oh, decided to give this a count up tonight for the first time ever. It’s sitting at 583… Worrying as that’s probably higher than the number I’ve listened to.
I dread to think what that number was like this time last year, last summer I got back into Big Finish and have been listening almost daily, so I’ve really chipped that number down since then.
Back… log … we where meant to have a backlog oh dear
I’m sitting at 775 listened to and 420 unlistened to in my collection (realized I picked up a few stories in the last sale I forgot to add to my backlog list). Which means I’ve listened to approximately 86.9 days worth of Big Finish, and still have 40.9 days left.
They’ve actually been on sale last week, I managed to grab two sets! I confirm that they’re very good. But even with the discount was a bit pricey. I hope they’ll come on sale again sometime later, after I’ve saved some more money ![]()
416? Blimey, and I thought my backlog was big!
I do have a lot of Big Finish I haven’t gotten round to listening to, although not as big as 416. If I was to guess, I’d say it’s probably somewhere between 30-35 audios. I stockpiled them for times where Doctor Who isn’t on TV, so it’s basically like my version of a squirrel stashing nuts for winter.
I’m at 110 listened to and 52 in the backlog. I hope I can chip away at that number pretty sizably over the next few months.
On the website it says I have 610 downloads in my library. I generally do try to keep up with listening as I buy things, so I don’t think my backlog has ever been bigger than like 20 releases. Right now I have seven releases in the queue and have heard everything else.
My back has logged
I’ve got
- Third doctor adventures vol 6-8
- Fourth doctor adventures series 2-3
- Classic doctors new monsters any story featuring 5 onwards
- Monthly adventures 68 of them not in order
- Ninth doctor adventures all of them
- Tenth doctor adventures vol 1-3
- Eleventh doctor adventures vol 1
- Thirteenth doctor adventures (all of them)
- Diary of river song vol 1-5
- War master vol 1-11
- Call me master 1-2
- Missy
I’ve got a many hours ahead
Out of my own curiosity, I thought I’d see how I was getting on compared to my last count up in July.
Purchased 117 new stories, listened to 27 stories.
My backlog is now sitting at 673 stories. Ouch.
My problem - and one of the reasons I was delighted to find this site - is that I find it hard to remember what I have heard. I own something in the region of 1250 releases (which will be more stories because of the boxsets). I have access to all the Spotify stuff too.
My guess is I have listened to about 40% of what I own. But its very hard to be certain. There have been a number of releases I began listening to and suddenly remembered details. So lets say about 800 stories left to experience.
Better get cracking…
I have 146 releases. I’ve counted the “and other stories” or boxsets which have seperate loggable stories as one entry.
Which out of the 505 releases… isn’t too bad really
I don’t really build a backlog for Big Finish. Or at least I don’t treat it like my gaming or movie backlogs.
I just select an audio whilst I’m travelling and listen as I commute to places. I try to keep on top of it but it’s reading books and comics on old archives mostly that I have to slow down for and get around to later.
I looked at how many “owned but not completed” I have and… yeah… I probably should hold off buying more until I’ve done these ![]()
Big?
Oh dear. When I read this and decided to look at mine, I knew with the first click that it was a bad idea. And yet I followed through. How long will it take me to get through 1249 stories (and counting…)?
(Now you see why I have my strict pricing strategy. Imagine how high the figure would be if I spent more than £4 on any audio story…!)
