How to reply correctly?

Hi all,

I feel like I might be replying incorrectly… Can you assist?

I know how to reply be hitting the reply button and typing words. I also know how to put an “@” and somebody’s name to reply directly to them and/or to many people at once.

But how do you reply so that it appears right within their original post? Kind of below it like a few spaces over?

Oh my gosh, am I making any sense?

I’m not exactly sure what you mean, but every post has an arrow symbol in the lower right-hand corner (highlighted in the screenshot). Hitting that allows you to reply directly to that post, and the person you are replying to is alerted.

This means you don’t need to use the @ symbol to alert someone to your reply, unless you’re mentioning someone other than the person you are replying to.

Okay, thank you! And where will your reply show up after that?

It shows up as the latest post in the thread you’re replying to. If there are multiple posts between the original comment and your reply, there will be a button in the upper right-hand corner of your reply that takes you to the original comment so that you and everybody else can see the comment you’ve replied to.

It’ll show up like this. But will also show a “1 reply” on the post I’m replying to.

I have been confused by replies before, because if the reply is the very next message, it doesn’t show up with the who it’s replying to in the top corner, so I’ve second guessed whether or not it sent as a reply a few times.

That nails it! That is the kind of thing I was worried about too!

But I believe I now know the correct way!
