It’s been very fascinating watching where everything began, after watching the first 2 Dalek serials I can understand why they became such a cultural icon . I’m surprised at how much I’ve found myself enjoying Hartnell’s version of the Doctor, he reminds me a lot of early Capaldi where he’s very brash and unsociable, but after a few smacks over the head from Ian and Barbara I can see him slowly develop into the Doctor I know.

K9 is also in SJA @MrColdStream! :k9:

Always nice seeing somebody being pleasantly surprised about watching Hartnell’s Run in the Role. I don’t think the Portrayals done by the other Actors and their writing to the Character justice and often seem to fail what makes him work. Which by no means is the fault of the Actors but often of the writing that kinda reduces this Incarnation to superficial Traits. Either way, glad you have been enjoying that Era of the Show

Yeah, Hartnell’s run is great. It is a bit sad how badly he was represented in “Twice Upon a Time.” He has much more warmth in his character than you think before watching his era.

The only other thing I’ve seen so far with him in it is Twice Upon a Time, and while I enjoy the episode, I can totally get why people who have an appreciation for the first Doctor would be frustrated that a Doctor they love so much was reduced to basically a caricature of the 60s for most of the episode.

Eleven and K9 are in SJA?!?

Now I simply have to watch it!

Even if the K9 is the wrong version without the bunny ears but let’s not think about that…
