My name is Renée and I use they/them pronouns. I’m 23 years old and I’m from Spain, from a region in the north called Asturies.
I don’t really know how long I’ve been a Whovian as I started watching the series as a child when it was on the children’s channel Boing, during the 11th Doctor period. Soon after, my father started playing the series since 2005 to my brother and me, and the obsession only grew.
I study Spanish Language and Literature, and I want to be a high school teacher. In the meantime, my biggest hobby is Doctor Who. I recently finished Classic Who, which means I’ve seen all the TV production so far, so now I’m devoting more time to the expanded universe. I have a rather curious way of choosing what I read or listen to, firstly because of the hyperfocuses of a neurodivergent person that I am, but also because of a very strong completism that makes me need to consume whole series of the products before I get into anything else. In this way, it will not be unusual for my profile activity to seem, perhaps, eclectic. I hope to use and collaborate more and more with this platform and forum.
Until then, happy times and places!

Hi! Wow, what a difficult question haha. As hard as it is to say which episodes are the best for me, I definetly know which ones are comfort episodes for me. So, I would mention
Gridlock
The Beast Below
Amy’s Choice
Knock Knock
The Tsuranga Conundrum
It Takes You Away
The Story and the Engine
Just to name a few and trying to cover several eras. Thanks for the question! Would you like to tell me what yours are?
Oh, true, I forgot about Classic Who! It is very difficult for me to say which episodes of the classic are my favourites, as most of them I have only seen once and there are so many of them that I can’t make an overview as I can with the modern series. However, I’m especially a fan of the Third Doctor and I’m a strong advocate of the later Fourth Doctor as well.
Undervalued incarnation! While I do think the show didn’t do him justice, I also think it’s mostly because of Trial of a Time Lord, whose overall narrative is handled rather annoyingly (in my opinion), because season 22 doesn’t have that much to envy from the Fifth Doctor’s seasons.
I think you can also get a sense of how his character settles down after The Twin Dilemma, and he doesn’t have such a distinct personality from others like the Fourth at times.
Sometimes I think that his fame, his short run and season 23 make people not want to see that he’s just as valid an incarnation as the others and that he’s just as much The Doctor as the others.
On the other hand I’m really looking forward to reading and listening to his appearances in the expanded universe, because I know they can make my opinion of him even better.
I realise now that I assumed you were expecting a perhaps negative opinion, and maybe you weren’t, but I’m used to reading opinions from fandom (both Spanish and English-speaking) that are indeed quite negative.
I actually asked my question having no assumptions about what you would say, but yes, the negativity about Six is rampant in the fandom. I’m not one who lurks about DW spaces that much outside of TARDIS Guide, but yesterday I was bored and went on another site. The second I did so, I stumbled upon a pretty scathing comment about Six. I understand that everyone has their own opinions and we can’t all like the same things, but this is why I created the Technicolor Dreamcoat - A Sixth Doctor Era Appreciation Thread :).
I find your response interesting, though, because I hear more people say s23 is the highlight of his TV run as opposed to s22. Trial of a Time Lord seems to be an arc that garners a lot of attraction, even if the viewer doesn’t care for Six himself.
I also prefer s22 because the s23 trial sequences are an element that works exceptionally well on first watch, but can get slightly grating on repeats. Sometimes you just want to watch the serials without the silly bickering bits between Six, the Inquisitor, and the Knacker’s Yard spliced in. I also prefer the s22 stories in general, but all eleven serials can be considered my favorites.
If you’re interested in visiting or talking more about his expanded universe run, feel free to leave a comment in the thread! He’s my favorite Doctor and I can talk about him for hours.
