Welcome to the forum! Glad to see another Twelve enjoyer join our ranks, he’s my favorite as well. You mentioned you’d been reading the novels, which ones have been your favorites so far? There’s definitely a wealth to choose from. And as for the forum, this also my first time on this sort of site as well and this is a nice bunch here. Interact with whatever interests you, it can be fun to revive an older thread if you’ve got thoughts.
Welcome to our little corner of the Internet! I guess what’s different about this place is that we actually like it when you dig up old threads and add your thoughts!
Welcome to the forum. Hope that you will have a good time here!
SEO! SEO! SEO! (Hello).
Excellent taste, Leela is also my favorite! [1] Have you ever checked out the Gallifrey series with her?
I hope you have lots of fun here!
well, she and Romana anyways ↩︎
hii, welcome! i hope you have a good time here
Welcome to the forum @DoctorDisco - glad you’ve found us!
I will definitely be getting back to Hartnell’s era at some point - season 3 has been a bit of a roadblock given how much is missing, and I need to get in gear and start listening to the recordings. I’ve been looking forward to “The Daleks’ Master Plan”, so I’m glad to hear it was the highlight of the era for you
I agree, there really is a wealth of them! I’ve sort of ping-ponged my way up and down the eighth doctor adventures over the years, and some which have stuck with me have been “The Year of Intelligent Tigers”, “Alien Bodies”, “Unnatural History” and “Seeing I”. I really like the more hard sci-fi nature of the EDAs, and Fitz has become one of my favourite companions as well.
Besides the EDAs, I recently dipped my toe into the Virgin New Adventures for the first time, and read “Human Nature” (which I actually preferred to the TV version) and “The Also People” (which I had somehow never heard of, but absolutely slaps).
Lastly, I’ve also read a few Target books and new series adventures over the years - my favourites of these series would have to be “The Day of the Doctor” and “Touched by an Angel” respectively.
I’m always interested to hear other people’s recommendations as far as DW novels go, so if you have any particular favourites, please let me know!
Thank you for the welcome! I haven’t listened to Gallifrey yet, but I would definitely love to some day - I also love Romana, and I enjoy anything time lord- or Gallifrey-related (hopefully we get them back in the main show again some day)
Do you recommend any particular starting place for the series?
Weclome to the forum, Doctor Disco!
Gallifrey is my favourite thing in the world and I really recommend it, as will a lot of people in the forum! It’s meant to be listened to in release order, so starting with Weapon of Choice is best. Technically you can also jump in with time war but you’ll miss all the evolution of the characters. While it’s absolutely not essential, I personally recommend listening to the main range stories that Romana (and Leela in the case of zagreus) appears in first: The Apocalypse Element, Neverland and Zagreus. They help to set the political scene, as well as provide some context for Romana’s mental state
Welcome fellow Twelve fan !
I have only been here a couple of weeks but this is probably the nicest forum I’ve ever been on So don’t hesitate to participate, I’m sure even your “spicy thoughts” will be welcome
Welcome to the forum fellow Twelve enjoyer!
I look forward to seeing you around
Hello and welcome! I really hope you enjoy your time here. There are loads of folk here who share our interest in this crazy show and, unlike other parts of the internet, we like to promote the simple idea of being nice to one another.
