Love the games (even if no one seems to understand what the correct opinions to have are /j ) but what would be cool would be if we could maybe have a bit more downtime between people’s games.
They seem to be popping up quite regularly and no sooner has one ended that another one starts.
It would be great if some space was given for some different people to have the chance to run some.
And it’s not like it’s the same person running each one. We’ve got four running at the moment (Sarah Jane, One-Time Villain, Twelfth Doctor, Main Range 1-64) and each one is being run by a different person. There’s nothing to say someone can’t start another one tomorrow.
That’s fine but I do think maybe some people feel they can’t start a new one if there are so many already running and there’s not much time in between to jump in and start a new one. It’s all about optics. Not saying anyone should stop, just trying to bring a bit of awareness to how it might be looking.
These four are, yes. And before these there were earlier games, and they were run by mostly the same users. The current situation is more of an exception. Also, four games simultaneously is a bit much. I know we’ve talked about this before, when we got very excited about those games and we had so many running that people lost interest a bit.
I’ve thought about running a gallifrey tournament a few times but never seemed to have the motivation the exact moment there was a lull in them happening. To be fair, i think part of it is also just that these will logically run for quite a long time with how many items there are so that may increase the felt number of them
He’s pointing one of his fingers at me . But I learned and I’m running fewer games these days. In fact, it’s down right nice to not be running one! I only ran the latest elimination game so soon after my previous game because there seemed to be a lot of sentiment for one. I have a longish list of game ideas and new ones regularly pop into my mind[1]. In any event, I’m giving it a break, maybe a loooong one, as I’m looking forward to the one-time villain mega-tournament and the new BF 1-64 Main Range tournament[2]. And I’m quite intrigued by @Blossom’s idea of an elimination game with twists.
And now that I’ve been properly chasitised by the great @deltaandthebannermen I’ll go off to my room to sulk in private .
Btw I was immediately[1] going to jump from 3rd doctor to whichever was next I think six(?) but if more of a gap between each of these one time villain per doctor of the community I don’t have to be as eager to run the next one lol
Pretty much there is a list of characters, stories, etc., and they all start with the same number of points and you give 1 point to an entry and remove 2 pts from one you want to eliminate. Once it hits 0 (or -1) it’s eliminated. And you can typically post once every 20 hrs so it is a bit of strategy on your part keeping what you want in or eliminating stuff
