To me, Pertwee’s Doctor is a true comfort Doctor in many ways. Sure he might often not rank as highly as other Doctors, but gosh, he’s just great! And at times underrated when it comes to playing off some dramatic Beats (at least I get the feeling that many glosses over that Aspect he has going for).
His Eye for Fashion still hasn’t beaten yet by any other Doctor (sorry Ncuti 
), all of his Velvets and Jacket while fancy feel very ‘show-off’ and that’s EXACTLY how I want the Clothes from the Doctor to feel!
His Chemistry with Delgado, Manning, John, Courtney & Sladen is just wonderful! Especially the UNIT Family Years have something very cozy to it.
If it wasn’t for such a great Cast, I don’t know if the whole Exile Seasons had worked so well as they did.
Of course his Stories have a great Track record outside of Monster of Peladon and a few more, he really had rarely duds and those that he had were rarely really frustrating (outside of Monster). Considering you get Stories like The Green Death, Invasion of the dinosaurs, The Curse of Peladon and so on, well.. what’s not to love?
I still need to get properly through the 3DAs Ranges, but what I have listened to so far does have a great grip on Era Accuracy. And it does feel like one of the more consistent Doctor Ranges BF has currently going for them!
I do also think Three is the Point where Doctor Who (the Character) really gets his fondness for Earth. While the classic Show never did ‘Arcs’ as we know them, you can see a beautiful progression from “I want to get away from this stupid Place” to “I came back Home to say Goodbye”, which is just wonderful.
While Three will probably never find his Way in my personal Top 5, his 5 Years in the Show are filled with such a warmth cozy feeling to it, a superb Supporting Cast, some entertaining Action and of course a lot of heart. No wonder why his Era really got the Show in the big leagues again and why it continues to be a wonderful Place for many to start the Classic Show!
