Eurovision Song Contest

Just seen tomorrow Miriana Conte’s releasing the MV for Kant but its been renamed to Serving… Fuming that the ESC/BBC are forcing the change. I’ve seen they’ve asked the Finnish representative to change her act to be less “revealing” but were fine with windows95man’s balls last year…

Wow! You live 50 minutes from Basel?! I’d definitely go if I lived that close. It’s probably a once in a lifetime thing, even if it is expensive. But no, we’ll be watching at home like every year.

France reveals their song on Saturday! I’m excited to hear it!

Well, this is actually not quite certain yet. Erika talked to a Swedish tabloid about the EBU demanding changes, but our national broadcaster issued a statement saying that no such demands have been made and, as far as they know, she can perform the song with no changes to the lyrics or the performance.

But with the shirtless Käärijä in 2023, the pantless Windows95Man last year and with Erika and the sauna boys this year, everyone will be thinking that us Finns never wear any clothing :joy::joy:

True… I was thinking about it but idk the cost and as I say, the fact I’d probably prefer watching on my couch. I’m a homebody :sob:

Ahhh ok I see!! I’m excited for Frances song, and the revamped Kant tomorrow!

The guy that is gonna represent our country at Eurovision (Croatia) has been getting so many homophobic comments, why are people like this and always focus on someone’s sexual orientation?

It’s horrible, the Romanian entrant in 2023 went on a talkshow and every question the host asked was about his sexuality

Unfortunately its just getting worse and worse. Crazy, I had so much hope in my teens when things kept getting better and better, and yet here we are now. Yet another reason we all have to do our bit and vote!

And Erika’s new suggestion for her stage outfit

ESC becoming more conservative every year is really starting to get annoying.

Hmmm I don’t know how to feel abt the Kant change. Anyways I’ll sing along when it’s supposed to be said and I’m willing to bed the arena will too!

If Måneskin couldn’t perform topless in 2021, I really doubted that Erika would be allowed to keep her staging

I was just watching speculation and prediction videos about the running orders today, and everyone seemed to think they’d reveal them next week. But here we are!

Iceland opening is nice!
Sweden last in first half of semi 1 is expected.
Albania gets a good spot finally!
And the Netherlands towards the end isn’t too much of a surprise either; I think they want to be friends with them after last year’s fiasco.
Cyprus closing isn’t much of a surprise.
Overall, quite a good spread of the favourites, uptempo songs, and fun entries.
Also, only three women in the semi!

Australia opening Semi 2 is a surprise considering it’s a bit of a naughty song…
Poor Montenegro gets the death slot :sob: another NQ incoming?
Ireland isn’t treated much better.
Again, Austria at the same position as Sweden doesn’t surprise me. And it’s followed by the UK, so that’s a tonal shift :joy:
Ugh, this semi has so many songs that don’t appeal to me; it’s going to be a chore. There are more women here, though!
Malta early in the 2nd half is good so that both she and Finland stand out with similar songs.
Hmmm, France’s position definitely doesn’t help it stand out, and poor Denmark gets lost between it and Czechia.
Uh, Israel has a good spot…
And it’s followed by Germany, sl another total shift in tone there.

AND FINLAND CLOSING?! Let’s go, Erika! That’s GF guaranteed!

Are we in the semi-finals? I didn’t think we ever performed in the semis because of stumping up the cash for the competition.

Cool - we never used to watch the semi finals and I think I assumed the ‘big five’ didn’t perform in them.
