Could Ncuti have pulled out because of the banning of pride flags?

I see him as very activist in my mind (no idea if that’s true I just made it up lol wishful thinking?)

That’s a good point actually, could be that. Or, as @NyssaTheNerd suggested above, the fact that Israel made it to the final. Or both.

If Ncuti pulled out for political reasons, wouldn’t he make some kind of statement on his socials? I feel like “unforeseen circumstances” could mean anything and as long as he doesn’t share his reasons I won’t speculate about it.

Anyway, huge bummer :slightly_frowning_face: was looking forward to seeing him twice on telly this saturday

A friend of mine said that there was a rumour Ncuti was going to reveal his departure from the role during Eurovision…so with him withdrawing, make of that what you will…

I heard that too, but no way he would announce his departure on Eurovision. Doesn’t make much sense to announce something that mostly is relevant to a british audience on a european simulcast. Also, as far as I know, the announcers don’t have that much time. It’s mostly a quick hello or a joke and then they announce the scores. No room for big announcements there.

Oh yes, I thought it was utter nonsense too but I just wonder what the rumour-mongers will make of this development.

Why am I only finding out about this now?? Going to listen to that ASAP to get me in the mood for tomorrow!

It’s so good!! I did it a few weeks ago. It’s funny I did the Benny Sutekh boxset close to the S1 finale too and was massively disappointed by the tv ep :sob:

You’re correct. 37 countries have to give their points and it already takes like two hours so they really can’t say a lot!

It’s usually a really crap joke or ‘LOVE TO EVERYONE!’ and then the results.

On behalf of all the germans, I’m already embarrassed in advance by whatever the german announcer is going to say. They always manage to deliver the cringiest jokes.

They might have asked him to not say anything until the event is over, or he’s just sick, really it could be anything. However, I’m glad for the people who were disappointed at his joining the event, I know quite a few people who were really disappointed over him deciding to join in.

Does you friend’s dad work at Nintendo Eurovision? Imo I think it would be weird to announce his departure before the final if he is leaving, especially since there will be quite the gap between S2 and S3.

I think that is the case for all the countries, except Sweden; we are always fun and professional!
