As a Midnight sequel in terms of the returning monster, I could take it or leave it. As a Midnight sequel in terms of its core ideas (paranoia and mob mentality will destroy us), it makes perfect sense to me. Like, any niggles I had about the lore specifics fell short of just how much I felt this story.

Also, maybe itās because of somewhat similar imagery, but it reminded me a bit of Vincent And The Doctor and its rearview mirror identify-this-monster gadget. Likeā¦ things like this only become obvious when we look back on them; thatās the vibe I got from it.

Great story in its own right, I rate it highly for that, but I did feel it shouldnāt really be a Midnight sequel. It really didnāt have that vibe for me. Midnight scared the doctor, it broke his faith in humanity for a bit there. I think if this leaned more into the soldiers really trying to kill Aliss, then it would have struck that nerve properly.

I disagree. Then again, people complaining about him crying has ruined moments where he cries for me which is annoying.
