Episode Discussion: Lux

I need to look into The Crooked World!

Haven’t actually read it but the cover is brilliant!

Actually, do we need ā€˜animation’ as a trope now - we’ve got The Crooked World, Lux and Can Your Hear Me?

I am madly in love with this cover! 8DA novels are such a blind spot for me so this is delightful

Looks like a Cursed Moments!

Ooh, and mine was the 50th review! Does that get a special badge?

Finished. I thought it was good, but like the previous episode I don’t really have much to comment on. I liked the animated part the best.

I was doing something else in the five seconds that Mr R.A.D. was defeated so I missed how that happened, but that’s fine. I also don’t really understand what changed for BC to make her now want to go exploring. Reginald was cute.

That’s all I’ve got to say.

I watched this episode with my mom yesterday, and later, I was looking for something to put on before bed… put on Lux a second time… it’s just that good.

This episode is really tightly written. Every scene feels unique, every line of dialogue advances plot or character, and they way the Doctor is written is just absolutely perfect. What an episode.

Just did my first rewatch this morning :slightly_smiling_face:

It was even better second time around - definitely my favourite RTD penned episode since he took over from Chibnall :+1: I upped it half a star to 4/5 :star:

Alan Cumming does such an amazing job at voicing Mr. Ring-a-Ding/Lux Imperator
(Though his King James from the Witchfinders will always stand above this one  )

((I am so excited for his Nightcrawler to enter the MCU))

Comes in three days late to reply to a joke

The way I would actually love this.
