Did anyone called you a “fake fan” before? (to me it’s a childish argument everyone who enjoys Doctor Who is a fan!) I genuinely can’t believe a grown man told me that I wasn’t a real fan because I still enjoyed Doctor Who and also said “I bet you don’t get any women in your life!” yeah…I’m a 19 years old student this is one of my least concerns right now

When I think of a fake fan, it’s in cases like band shirts, for example, where someone wears the shirt of an artist they don’t even listen to.

These people are so annoying
I have had many incidents where I have been called a ‘fake fan’ (or a lot worse) just because I like the Thirteenth Doctor’s era.
But the thing is, these kinds of people are just not very nice. If there was actually such a thing as a ‘fake fan’, these people would be them. Because they don’t understand that everyone is allowed to like Doctor Who, and everyone is allowed to have different opinions. These people just don’t accept that.

I only just watched 13’s era this year.
Prior to that I felt like a fake fan for NOT having watched it. And now I love her and Yaz and pre-ordered her audios.
I follow some fans who have created a whole dictionary of fun little insults for certain types of Elitist Whovians. I won’t list them, but it’s also how I came across “Classic Supremacist” as an insult, probably the most tame of the bunch. I also really like the ones they use for the “Tennant is the only good Doctor” types, hehe.

There is nothing wrong with enjoying different parts of Doctor Who , infact this is what I love about it! There is just so much that it can have it’s own fandom. I sometimes wonder if they even enjoy the show they claim to like
